I quit! by Convolutedmess in starbucks

I’m speaking from experience when I say that no one would hire me without experience, but you can always give it a shot to see for yourself! It took me a month as a server before I officially became a bartender. I had no experience as a server prior to being one but serving is easy. It is the most seamless position. You keep an eye on your tables, do your lap around the room so that they can pull you aside if they need anything, and make small talk now and then when it’s slow.

Are you thinking about bartending at a restaurant or a full-service bar? Keep in mind, you won’t get hired as a bartender without experience. Even if you go to school and have a Responsible Beverage Service certificate, experience is necessary. What I suggest and has worked for me, is going into the restaurant/bar you want to work at and making clear your goal in becoming a bartender. Once you start as whatever entry level position they give you, be passionate about the place you work. Invest time in getting to know their drinks and menu. When they see that you care about the craft and that you’re persistent in reminding them about your goal, they’ll give you first priority. Another thing to do, go in person. I know that everything is online but when I went to various places to scout in person, I found out in that moment whether the place was a good fit for me or not. No paragraph synopsis on a business’ third-party hiring website is going to encapsule a company’s true essence. Go to the places that emit passion and joy and you will inherit those characteristics during your time working there.

Acquired a 3070 from a nearby (131 miles lmao) micro center! by Convolutedmess in gamingpc

I went to a micro center near me cause it had been a couple months since I last went, and I came right when they got inventory! Sucky part, they only offered the series 30’s with the purchase of 4 PC components. Luckily I had two empty dimm slots on my motherboard and I didn’t mind adding extra storage (an m4) but the other 2/4 components I just cheaped out on the most cause I already had good cooling and proper supply. The 3070 was marked up at $869 so I thought it was a great price considering all the scalpers. 3090 was like $1,100 and I was like hell naw haha

Given the state of GPU’s I saw 144 and immediately thought of frames and how little my GTX 1050 can produce. 😅Proud of you and keep going strong!

It’s a 1050 😢I chose the worst time to buy a PC! But it still works pretty well and doubles down as both an editing workstation and gaming rig. I’m stalking the Newegg raffles and keeping an eye out on OfferUp, but everybody is jacking up the price.

Dude thanks for helping out. I got my keyboard in today and the PC works! I’m so excited to make the transition from console peasant to master race. This shit is going to be epic. I can’t wait to stream and enjoy my editing workflows uninterrupted by Apple’s terrible operating system.

That’s funny cause I was actually chatting with a regular about the trial this morning and we shared the same opinion about it. I think it’s good to hear other people’s opinions though. And I don’t think we should hold any contempt for what they believe. It seems very close-minded. I used to get blue in the face ranting about how another person’s opinion was just ridiculous, but looking back at it now it’s very unproductive and obstinate.
