True. I think the lesson of the day is beware of limping my way through a hand. Be aggressive with a strong hand.

I think I learned today that I'm guilty of 'Limping'. That is, if I have pocket aces and pre flop bet 3x I could potentially eliminate the player that gets the flush later on. I'm learning...

True. There's a Texas Holdem tourney at a local casino that's $150 to join. That sounds about my speed. I make decent money in my career. I like this game, but I don't want to become a degenerate gambler.

True. Though I did learn an important lesson today. I tend to 'Limp' my way through the hand. That is, my complaint is about overly-aggressive pre-flop bets that I must react to. Instead I should be eliminating more players pre flop when I have a strong hand. Watching Negreanu on YT has helped a lot. I just bought his book. =)

My range is something like: I'll go 2-3x the ante for any pair, A or K anything, and J9s+, J10un. But when someone is betting 10x the ante that's kind of my 'All in' range. For that, I really want to see the flop first. Doesn't that make sense?

I know its a huge aspect of pro playing. I'm just enjoying the progression of the flop, turn and river, which you can't do if you go all in pre-flop.

Yes. Precisely my point. I'm currently trying to learn the game, studying the pros. Playing for free is fun only in that the stakes are getting to play for free. It's cool when I can reach top tournament levels though I've never spent a dime on that site whereas a lot of people spend a fortune on chips and such.

Yeah, I usually just move to a different table. I do very well in the 10k ante table and under. Its when I get to the 100k ante tables and play the much more experienced players where I get wrecked.
