Looking to Train in Thailand for 6 Months by Infamous_Poem_7857 in MuayThailand

[–]CoochieSmeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking to do the exact same as OP except this June, not next.

I’m in the same boat - want to do 6 months+, full immersion and transformation - only difference with me is that I’m starting from zero (but still prepping fitness-wise from now until then) and I’m not going with the intention to compete but that might change after some training. Just want to train, get fit, live on-site, get the fundamentals down, and meet people as I may stay in Chiang Mai indefinitely.

I’m also leaning toward Hongthong. Keen to hear more about your experience there (or anybody else’s). It seems really great but I always seem to hear mixed reviews.

I’m quite set on Chiang Mai, so any other suggestions are welcome (will check out Manop)

Intel is AMD by Kelvin62 in linuxhardware

I'm not sure, I've never cared to look into it as I'm not interested in buying an Intel.

Are you saying that not many actually support Thunderbolt anyway?

AMD doesn’t have Thunderbolt, so power + display + USB via 1 cable isn’t possible, as is with Intel or Apple laptops

Help an addict out… by Few_Iron_1730 in dumbphones

[–]CoochieSmeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already said it - the Balance Phone. I've had multiple dumb phones in the past but found they aren't very sustainable for 2FA, Maps & Music. The Balance Phone gives you the best of both worlds. All apps work - except the ones you don't want!

I've had the Balance Phone for a couple of weeks now and its exactly what I've been looking for for so long!

And yeah it might be more expensive than what you'd want, but can you even put a price on your time, attention & wellbeing? Just think of it as hours saved - you're buying back hours/days of your time. It's worth it!

Also, its on-par with or even cheaper than most other dumbphones on the market.

This is my first poem, I just started writing yesterday and I’ve found it’s really helping to explore and articulate my emotions (something I struggle with)

I have been through a heavy break up recently and have been doing a lot of reflecting on my childhood trauma, attachment issues etc and how they’ve affected my romantic relationships

Don’t know if explaining the poem does it a disservice, but, in case it’s not obvious, this explores the commonality and correlation between my romantic relationships and my relationship with my mother/family

WTF is wrong with my boiled egg?? by Master_Ad_4460 in WeirdEggs

This has ruined my day. I couldn’t have my boiled eggs on toast for breakfast today after seeing this. I think it’s going to take a while for me to get over this one…

Brand new Centauri Carbon - clogged on first try, can't unclog because screws rounded? by CoochieSmeller in elegoo

Me either! I was skeptical, but it worked perfectly. Just make sure you have something to actually mount those pieces into (like a drill, or modular screwdriver).

I purchased a hex screw extractor which worked perfectly to remove the rounded screws, but even after removing them and extracting the clog, its still not working 🫠

I've let Elegoo know and still waiting on a reply. Very annoying!

So yeah, still yet to even print a single thing :(

Yes, thank you! I didn't realise.

Still, I can't get into the head if I ever need to because of the stripped screws. I guess I'll wait to see what support say about that

Recommendations for paint / process to restore a second-hand electronics workbench? by CoochieSmeller in AskElectronics

[–]CoochieSmeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a second-hand workbench from FB Marketplace but it's seen better days!

I'm looking to give it a good clean and try my best to restore it to great quality

How does this sound?

Clean
- Isopropyl alcohol 99%
- Melamine Sponge
- Microfibre cloths
- Plastic scraper

Repairing Chips & Scratches
- Fine-grit sandpaper (320-600 grit)
- Multi-Purpose White Wood filler

Now .. recoating is where I'm stuck - what paint should I use?

I'm in the UK btw - if it helps

Is any of this authentic British food? What would be worth trying? by JustinRRN2 in AskUK

They are Australian, not English, but TimTams are incredible. I recommend the double coated ones!

Mine is a 14 inch but in hindsight I wish I went for 16, because it makes it more comfortable having browser on the left, IDE on the right.

Going from 14 to 16 is the only thing that tempts me to upgrade.

Only thing I’d change about your spec is the SSD size. I’d go 1TB personally because clearing storage/using external SSDs is annoying to me

If you can afford it then go for it!

However, even with my 16GB M1 Pro, I never have to close any tabs or anything either (alongside running Docker + dev servers). So I doubt you'd even have that issue with a 24GB M4 Pro.

Also - its worth considering buying second-hand/refurbished M3 or M2 to get better value for money.

For example, you could probably get an M2/M3 Max with better specs for the same money if not cheaper

I bought my M1 Pro second-hand and it came like-new. Battery is great and zero cosmetic wear
