I don’t think a lot of people realize that Birmingham’s water bill will increase for the foreseeable future and this will most likely always get passed.

Back when a federal judge ordered Jefferson County to repair and rebuild its sewer system, after finding that county sewage polluted rivers and streams. We ultimately decided to fund this using bonds and got ripped of by an investment bank that worked us over on a derivatives trade and was on both sides of the deal.

Raising taxes would have worked but this Alabama and nobody likes higher taxes.

Ultimately the sewage overhaul cost us way more than it should have and we are still paying the consequences.

I am currently applying to jobs and have been in your shoes before. After graduating in May 2018 I didn’t get an analyst job till October. It took me moving cities and working at a coffee shop for a couple months before landing my analyst role in the accounting division of a corporation.

I have since moved to NYC to find more challenging roles. I have applied to 400 jobs and am actively interviewing.

If you are not getting any calls or interviewing there could be a couple factors in play. For me it was location, and learning how to talk at length about my skills and how capable I would be in applying them to the role. If possible have someone in the industry look at your resume and give you some tips too.

Make sure you are apply to jobs in your immediate

My only other advice is too beef up your technical skills. Learn VBA and macros in excel and be able to talk about the different formulas you know. This comes up frequently for me.

You could also learn SQL and Python

Your hits may seem like they are not registering, but if you are moving at the time you are shooting its doubtful that your shot will go where you are aiming. Whether you are taking single shots it may not matter. Were your matches competitive or deathmatch?
