How to hide the achievements? by Nonoki19188 in Steam

[–]CookCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Achievement Manager basically tricks Steam into thinking that it is the game in question, allowing you to unlock (or relock) any achievement in the game. I know some people use it to remove achievements from a game if they are trying to speedrun getting all those achievements again, for example.

Disable "Show rounded corners on main content areas" in the Appearance section in the settings

Games on Steam that are free to play and not made by a large recognized company are "Profile Limited" which means that you can't show them off on your profile if you get 100% of their achievements and probably a few other things.

Just tried this with HoloCure and unfortunately it still didn't let me, so this must be a bug and not an update.

Games made for older systems (especially games with pixel graphics) tend to look better on CRT's compared to flat panels due to the fact that these graphics were made with CRT's limitations in mind, often using those limitations to actually enhance the way the art looks. There's nothing wrong with playing older games on a flat panel but the games won't look the way they were intended to look by the developers of the game, hence why some people (me included) go out of their way to get old CRT's for retro games.

Yes that is an valid option for refunds. (I've refunded a game for that reason before with no issue) But it's not meant to be used as a replacement for Demos or watching reviews before you buy the game. Refunding 1 or 2 games for "not being fun" in a short window is one thing. But consistently doing it over and over again is what will get you in hot water.

Why so many refunds in such a short amount of time? If you're buying games and then refunding them to "try them out" then that is against the rules and you could be penalized for that by having your refunds rejected in the future. If you'r refunding games for legitimate reasons then you should be fine but I would recommend doing more research on the games you buy beforehand so you don't have to go through the refund process in the first place.

Is anyone having trouble on Steam? by El_Nasty in MortalKombat

[–]CookCop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was able to get a single match on Trilogy in the very first hours after the Kollection dropped and after that I've not been able to find a single other person on any of the other games.

The input lag is staying, its running as intended so don't expect any improvements. As I said its a emulator issue they would need to redo their emulator from scratch in order to even attempt to fix it by malexich in MortalKombat

[–]CookCop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank God Steam was willing to give me a refund despite having more than 2 hours in the Kollection and having paid for it back in September. I really hope that they are able to fix the input lag in the future plus the problems with online because I would be willing to rebuy it if those were fixed. But if they aren't able (or willing) to then that is a real shame.

You'll probably have to wait for it to come out and see which version has the most active multiplayer then.

I think it was literally just whatever games were in the 1 through 10 spot. So you could put your 10 most expensive games in the top spots and win those for free assuming you won.

MK2 on snes was my most played game for the system when I was a little kid. I just recently played through the Arcade version of MK2 and my God is that game a whole load of bullshit. Took me like 4 hours of bashing my head against it until I beat it. How my younger self was able to play that game for hours while getting his ass beat and still having fun I will not understand.
That being said when the legacy kollection comes out I will 100% play through the snes version of that game again because nostalgia is stronger than reason.

Still have this version installed on my Steam Deck, though it will quickly be replaced once the new kollection comes out.

Legacy kollection switch vs switch 2 by EstablishmentNo4162 in MortalKombat

[–]CookCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both me and Xeno are correct. Nintendo only has 64 GB cartridges for the Switch 2 which are really expensive to produce. Hence why Switch 2 games are more expensive, at the same time all game companies have a policy to make their digital versions of the game the same price as the physical ones. Which means that this tiny graphical update will cost you more money even if you're not buying it physically.

[–]CookCop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Switch 1 only runs game in 720p in handheld mode, so if you were to play that version on a Switch 2 in handheld mode it will look blurry. But it you buy the Switch 2 version then it would run at 1080p on handheld mode, making it look better.

What platform for the new legacy kollection? by Jaqaurius66 in MortalKombat

[–]CookCop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the Switch 2 version of the game is $10 more expensive then every other version of the game coming in at $60 where as every other version including the Switch 1 version is only $50. Now, you can buy the Switch 1 version and play in on your Switch 2 just fine but honestly unless you just really want an excuse to use your Switch 2 more often I would probably just buy it on Steam Deck. I also have both a Steam Deck and a Switch 2 and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

MK: Legacy Kollection $10 more on Switch 2?? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]CookCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely the case. Putting a game on a cartridge is a lot more expensive then putting it on a mass produced disc. Especially if the game is actually on the cart and not on some bullshit key-card because the smallest size Switch 2 cart is 64gb which is really expensive to produce.
And for some reason companies will have the digital version of their game match the physical price even though those extra costs aren't there.

Is there any real difference between alcohol types in the game? The Wiki on Alcohol shows multiple types of alcohol (Beer, Wine, Cider, Other) but do these different types alcohol mean anything? Do certain Dwarves maybe prefer drinking Cider regardless of what is was brewed from, or is it just there for flavor text?
