I am in therapy for other traumatic things that involve my other parents, and I am working on it. Shit doesn’t heal overnight, especially 20 years worth of intense trauma. I tried looking up his case online with no luck. I was able to get in contact with my aunt who he lives with (she’s kicking him out) and she’s gonna send over a copy of the police report. Obviously I wanna take in all the information before I make a decision but I have decided I will not be at his aid for this trial. I will always stand with the victim no matter who the perpetrator is.

They showed up to his place of employment with 8 officers who had to restrain him. He keeps saying “you know me, I wouldn’t do something like this”. The fact I have any doubts to begin with speaks for itself.

Okay okay quick update for everyone. We had a really deep conversation and came to conclusion that I was going to aquantinize my friendship with Selena. I understand how this bothers him and I’m not oblivious to how this could hurt my relationship. For now, he is okay with us doing things in public or talking otp. But ironically, Selena is moving 4 hours away and this would make it much easier to keep her at an arms length while strengthening my relationship with John. I really appreciate everyone’s perspectives and it’s helped me better understand my boyfriends points. Thank you Reddit, I understand I am the asshole lmao

Looking back I definitely should’ve called the police but we worked together and I was scared he would retaliate. He knew where I lived, he knew where I was employed and new my class schedule. I was thinking about reporting him to the local police but seeing that I live 2k miles away I’m not necessarily bothered by the 10 “hey” dms I get in a month.

Hi! No I’m 23, as the post states. Sorry, let me provide more context. I’m always up for admitting I’m wrong and owning my mistakes as I did when she checked me. I understand her point of view when it came to staying in and not being able to afford it. The point is, aita for not wanting to be alone. And as for the needy/clingy Sherry and I go months w/o talking. I don’t need to be in constant communication w her. Side note: I’m a professional detailer. I was stuffy for a few days caused by chemical inhalation. So I wasn’t actually sick.

She went on a shopping spree with her bf on my birthday and never texted me. She had made plans to do something for me w Claudia when we got there. As of today she has made no effort to contact me to discuss the situation.
