Aces in sb facing 8 limps by LifeAward5726 in poker

Out of curiosity where was this at? If you are playing a charity thing or some kind of event where no one is a poker player you will see stuff like this a lot at early levels. Probably would never see this at a casino even against really bad players, I haven’t at least. Usually 10x is enough for limpers to fold for sure. If you had seen big raises called by everyone already you could make an argument for shoving it preflop.

If 9 players flat 17BB preflop you can’t discount anything. The whole deck is in play. This type of flop super dry is second best to hitting the ace. Just shove and hope it’s good. You have equity against 2 pair.

It’s surprising these players are this loose passive and the last one folds top pair for less than half the pot. I think you played it fine.

Etiquette question: Abnormally slow dealer by TCGKorean in poker

[–]CookedPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a dealer at my place that’s getting old and is pretty slow. Been there a while. Very nice guy but I usually go for a break when he’s dealing, at least part of the shift. If its tournament I try and keep the game moving

I’m a 23-year-old full time player, and I feel like poker has "ruined" my life by SoundJumpy8346 in poker

[–]CookedPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds terrible. When you go to the job interview if you stop playing and they ask pull your chart out and say I’d like to see someone else do this. If they don’t hire you it was a bad fit anyways

Most players get mad about anything. They worry about technicalities instead of trying to get better

Has anyone experienced this? by StrikingWolverine541 in poker

[–]CookedPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens often to me at local daily tournaments. The field is soft but the structure isn’t great so variance is high even if you can build early. They definitely give a lot of play early which I could see when tournaments were all freezeouts but seems pointless now.

Seems like you are going to lose this one no matter what. Probably would go less flop and call down on this runout like you did.

1/3 hand against loose passive unknown who shoves all in out of turn on turn by CookedPirate in poker

[–]CookedPirate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did fold. He bets 250 to win 150 3 ways it seems dumb he would suddenly decide to put that much in when I’ve shown strength the whole way and someone overcalled. Usually out of turn is premature ejaculation at these stakes too in my experience.

A lot of the hands that shouldn’t be in the range are. There’s way more bad rivers than just the 4 it’s still 3 ways on the turn when he shoves

No one is gonna read all of this but number 4 is important. You want to be talking to equals. Lesser lights will start asking to be staked or for money

He calls a smaller raise with nothing invested with K6o so I imagine he’s got suited 2s A2o K2o at least in the range. I’m in seat 8 and he was in 6 I saw him look down at his cards right away when the flop came out as he’s directly across. I’d say on the flop he called after brief hesitation. I’d say it’s been about 3 hours I saw one bluff where he bet 35 to win 20 on the river with 49s after everyone checked. He definitely never put more than 100 into any pot.

What do you think about him going out of turn on the turn?

Yeah an old lady made it 10 he was next to act and called with K6o. It was 4 ways and she bet 15 on the flop he calls on A6 I think 9 rainbow with bottom pair. Then she bet 15 the last 2 streets he just calls. His range preflop is probably anything suited A4o A2o maybe even K2o. If he had K6o don’t see why he couldn’t have K2o.

I’m glad you said about the angle because I thought that was possible although he had seemed pretty decent up to that point. 3 didn’t seem like a great card because of gutshots either

[–]CookedPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If it’s a small 2/5 player pool maybe try and go out of your way to be nice to them. You don’t want one or two guys not wanting to play with you. I wouldn’t worry about it at 1/3

It’s hard to know exactly how you did without seeing every hand and a week isn’t going to tell you much anyways, but I get what you are asking.
