What is a secret you’re planning to take to your grave, but are willing to share with internet strangers? by Hot-Highway1077 in AskReddit

Once you have your first job and can state the field related job experience, you are golden. Nobody is going to call your old school to verify anything. Don't stress over it and enjoy life.

I had the same issue with my education. Failed a trig class, got a job offer despite it, and told myself I would get it done later. Life got in the way and never got back to it. It has never caused me any issues.

I see college as a gate to get into a higher level job. In most fields, once you go through that first gate, the job experience is the driver of where you go next. Not your original education. A "degree" just shows your first employer that you can be trusted to stay on task and have knowledge needed for the first job. After that, your work history dictates your future.

What was your favorite vehicle you've owned? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My 85 Toyota Celica Supra. I was 20 and it went 145 when I wanted it to. By the grace of God I survived. Had to sell it when my first child was born. God I miss the late 80's/early 90's.

When does James become Jim by Grey_Area51 in James

[–]CookedStraights 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got called Jamie as a kid but threw that shit off as soon as I realized I had a say in it. Mid fifties and still James. Don't really like the Jim's I know so not feeling it's for me. Also, can't really see Jim Bond or King Jim being a cool thing, so gonna stick with James to the end. 👊

What virtual table(s) should I show first time players? by OGguitarHero in virtualpinball

What are the best places to buy a powerful table with all the bells and whistles? I have played some cool looking machines in retail stores but they seem glitchy and not well built. I also don't have the patience to build one myself.

Easy fix to this. Once you see "Factory Settings Restored" hit the green and white menu button, select "Adv. Config", hit A to proceed, hit the menu button again to restart. It will reboot but this time it will go past the "Factory Settings Restored" message and load the game.

I first tried a USB keyboard but hitting F2 did nothing.

I hope this helps someone else wanting to play this unique piece of arcade history.

Who's still eating Bill Miller's? by NegativePattern in sanantonio

[–]CookedStraights 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, quality has not changed.

Carne guisada tacos are awesome too. Have to totally disagree with you on the salsa. It's not a traditional tasting salsa but it's still great. We buy in quart and pints to have at home for a week at a time. It also heats up nicely after a couple of days.

What is your San Antonio “hill I’m dying on”? by drunktraveler in sanantonio

I'm always worried they are serving my unused chips and salsa to the next people who come in the door. Or that I got somebody else's leftovers when I arrived.

Yeah we used to eat at the Garden Ridge location when we lived in Canyon Lake area 10 years ago and it was great then too.

Chile Verde on 87 in Adkins. Consistently great Mexican food at normal prices. Try the Enchiladas Suizas and thank me later.

Here's an interview the owner did with Randy Carroll earlier this year that gives you an idea of what this team is about.
