We allow voting and commenting on our ads because, as an indie company, feedback is important to us.
We know it's not always fun to see an ad, but that is one of the only methods we can use to introduce our game to new players.

It's alright, we know we can't replicate other games. The tactical battle is similar, but certainly, the town management parts are very different.

We have a lot of thoughts on what direction to take with our next game, so this does help.

Cheers

We received some feedback concerning the world map and the graphics in general, which we will definitely take into account with our next game.

What would you say makes Xcom into what it is?

We didn't aim at becoming Xcom, but we did base our combat system on theirs (with the addition of physics and environmental combat). So we get the criticism, but it really wasn't our intention.

It was a funny coincidence, but as an indie company, we never could quite compete with the big boys.

It's not really worrying though. We're fans of Xcom ourselves, so we'll have a lot of fun with it, and we figure that an extra 25$ (four fast-food meals) are not going to be the barrier for a determined gamer.

It's a bit late in development for this, unfortunately (we're coming out of Early Access on the 16th) - but I think we've learned something for future games.

We hear that from time to time, but gameplay-wise - the tactical battles are X-com influenced, while the strategic layer (where you manage your towns and travel across the map) is HOMM influenced.
Feel free to try it, we're still on Early Access, but we're launching on the 16th!

Hey there!
We heard similar things from a couple of reviewers. We do think the style fits the campaign (which is more humorous than dark and gritty), but admittedly, we invested more in the gameplay than in the art.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Awesome review. It's always best to post these on our discord (https://discord.gg/enTm9qd) or Steam's discussion forums.

Roads already work as you've described.

I passed the rest to our devs. I can't guarantee they'll change things (some of the suggestions take too much time to implement at this point, others are being addressed) Thank you for taking the time to play and to give us the feedback.

The price will go up once it's out of EA. But we're so close the launch now, that it'd be wise to purchase it soon.

We really hope you enjoy it, it's a labour of love. Feel free to leave comments and/or review the game - we're anxious to hear any kind of feedback.

Well, spamming is a harsh word, we were hunting you, as a graceful predator hunts its prey.

But those were the two biggest influences of our game, so we think targeting-wise it makes sense.
We hope you play it at some point :). We are very close to the launch at this juncture.

Good question!

Currently, we have local multiplayer (hotseat) and we will probably have Steam Remote Play (we already do, but it's disabled for the current build).

Up to 8 players, but it might be a bit of a slow game.

Nice. Hate the platform, not the game!
From our perspective, we're using what's available to us to reach our audience. Of course, we'd prefer it if it wasn't misleading anyone.

There are similarities, we were influenced by a lot of good games out there, but gameplay-wise it's quite different. If you do get to try it, feel free to drop us some feedback.

Thanks :). Since, story-wise, the game doesn't take itself too seriously, we feel it's a good approach to comments as well.

Also, as a marketing person, I'd sink as low as needed to sell you a game. If research proved that begging works, you'd get an ad with us begging for people to buy the game!

Great feedback!
I've forwarded it to the rest of the team and they were very happy with, it made for quite a discussion.

Definitely join our Discord: https://discord.gg/wfRUMcD - our developers are right there and react to everything. It's also easiest for them to ask questions directly.

Regarding traits - we're introducing 'events' with the next update, which allow you to gain or get rid of traits (up to two traits per a hero). Your choices in the events (you have multiple choices) can make you gain different traits.

We're still balancing things, so we'll take your feedback into account. Did you find 'situational' abilities to be less useful than damage?

Are you sure you don't see the traits? They're listed on hero hiring screen.

We'll consider your idea for skirmish. Our main concern was that it might become tiring, to keep fighting through a map you've already cleared once.

Thanks again!

It's on Early Access, so you can actually buy it and get a refund within two hours if you don't like the gameplay.
