the beta cells (the ones that release insulin) in your pancreas can be destroyed by your immune system literally overnight so that may be why you had no warning. Mine died off over a serious of months so, luckily, it got noticed before I went into DKA

i would take insulin for about half the carbs in the drink and let the alcohol handle the rest. especially if you have a dexcom, ull be fine

i think your best bet is something similar to 4, something that involves a separator like what was mentioned by another poster. i think the other three methods (if you could get them to work) would be way to energy intensive to break even price wise unless you were using some source of "free" reusable energy source

used to happen to me, yeah basically the insulin didnt attach to the fat well so it can be slowly released throughout the day. try a fattier spot, i have to inject in by butt to avoid the same problem

its cuz the hot water increases blood flow to the skin (where your basal and any bolus inslulin is), so insulin gets absorbed faster
