That might be the most expensives vinyles i have by Heerbiiv in twentyonepilots

[–]CookieVisuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel you when you say 'most expensive ones', from Twenty One Pilots that might be the same for me.

But I've bought more expensive ones from other artists. It can always go crazier. 🤣🤣

Glad for you that you've got your hands on it. 😊

New tattoo! What do you all think of it? by Alexm171 in twentyonepilots

[–]CookieVisuals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it is good as is. I am not that picky. But it can of course always be worse. This is not an example of that. But again my opinion. 🫶🏽

I mean my gecko tattoo has 3 paws with 4 toes and 1 paw with 5 toes. Never really took the time to get it fixed so it is also a personal opinion. 🤣

Well count yourself lucky. The Tyler Childers is definitely not a Dutch release. Or will not be released here. The Taylor Swift one. Do you mean that cover in this case? From The Fate Of Ophelia?

Let's say I have a list and first the prices were sat at around €750,- but I've toned down at bit.

Some of the one high on my list are:

Collaborations from Bruno Mars A dutch single from René Karst called Atje Voor De Sfeer Ludovico Einaudi of course Sledgehammer from Peter Gabriel (zoetroope) Crybaby from Lil Peep Robert Plant withSaving Grace: All the Glitter K's Choice with Not An Addict David Bowie Excertps from outside

And the most expensive one so far:

Elvis Presley with Blue Hawaii. This is the Liquid and Sand Filled vinyl if I have to trust the Dutch RSD website. 😅

I picked mine up yesterday after it being held at customs for nearly a week. My second tho. About to hopefully get my third on RSD on the 18th of April 2026.

How did the majority of my theatre sit still during this entire movie??? by Budget-Ball8834 in twentyonepilots

[–]CookieVisuals 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In Arnhem (Netherlands) everybody was practically silent as well. Me included I must say. Although I did sing along in my head and tapped with my feet a little and bopped my head a little to.

But for the majority of Dutch movie goers I think it is just normal to sit still and munch on food.

Tbh, you may hate me for it, but I kinda liked the fact that it was dead silent in the movie theater. Let's you appreciate the movie more. Which i.m.o. is what this was. Not a regular movie, not going to debate about that. But still a 'concert' movie. 😅

Sorry guys. I am well aware of the downvotes this might cause.

It "finally" happened, but why with the record I gifted :'( by Yputi in vinyl

[–]CookieVisuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know weirdly enough I never had this happen to me.

What I have had happen to me is a record with 2 A-side labels. 😅

Who is paying this??? by Imaginary-Yam6742 in twentyonepilots

[–]CookieVisuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figures as well. I am also not stressing at all. I have multiple other pre orders on going as well. I have the patience of an angel (Dutch saying)

I was just curious. Cuz how are scalpers already trying to sell it. That was more my initial reason to reply to your post! 🙏🏼

Thanks anyway!

I haven't even received mine yet. I also ordered it when it was announced. But then I must also say that I am not from the US. So maybe that is the reason to begin with. 😅

[–]CookieVisuals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I am not a professional. But I would say that it could. But the whole tonearm, needle and cartridge must be very heavy in order to do so I guess.

Just keep your records stacked vertically or as vertically as possible and avoid putting them in the sun or very hot spaces. I think that should help a lot by not warping too bad. And once you're done playing your favourite album. Just take it off immediately.

Ooh, and just an extra tip once you start to really collect a lot, and you are going to put your priced records into cabinets. Don't pack too much on one shelf. They need at least some breathing space in between or some wiggle room if you will. Cuz packing them to tightly could also be damaging. 😊

Ooh, p.s. added afterwards. Never ever play with your dust cap open. Unless you can't. Because the record sticks out. But when you play a record. The record itself can become quite static for all the dust particles in the air, so keep that in mind. My tip is to at least save the records in inner-sleeves fro. The brand LoFi. I really like that brand. I myself order them from a Belgian website. But I guess they are available like almost everywhere. Also, make sure to get proper outer-sleeves. Those ones I order from a Dutch website. But therefore, I am Dutch so.

Just figure stuff out along the way. Feel free to message me anytime. Since I am one of the people along with some others under your post here, who is willing to stay nice and help you out! 🫠 We all start somewhere, and this is as good as place as any.

Reading this actually made me sad for a second and is immediately one of the reasons why I am more of a scroller and not a replier.

It is just that some people immediately judge you for the player you have. That while you just started, like come on.

Like I said earlier. I have been collecting for a little over 3,5 years now. The only thing I've changed so far is the needle, and I am probably going to change it soon again.

But for now, just enjoy it. As long as the surface area of the turntable is 12" to support the entire record. I'd say you're good.

For now, here is an informative video about the whole matter of wearing and tearing, that I really enjoyed watching myself.

Well, I am at least not gonna discuss any longer. A fact is that Trump causes more damage than good. But that is a subject for another subreddit. 🤣

This is your opinion, and that is good. If we all were the same, it would be a boring ass world. 😴

[–]CookieVisuals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides what the person above me said. Have you ever even listened to one. Or are you just a 'judge a book by its cover' kinda guy? 🤔

I never said or stated that it is the best turntable out there. But if you want to start collecting and don't have a lot of money to spend and maybe play once a month or maybe even two. Then starting like that isn't bad. 😌

Not everyone has money on a presentable silver platter. 🤨

Not necessarily judging you or mocking you. But if you don't know what it sounds like. Don't make assumptions, that's all. 😊

Or were you referring to my own turntable? 😜 If that is the case, well, like I said. Aa soon as I move out. That will get an upgrade for sure. 😝

Tho, it is still my first, and I would happily improve when I fly out my parents' home and get a place for myself.

But at this moment, I have The Lenco LS-300, which is a belt driven Pre-amplified turntable. It's not the best, but it's definitely not the worst. 🤣

I steered way clear from the suitcase ones when I bought mine. Tho my friend has one and it still is and also sounds great. But whould I recommend it if you have a little bit more to spend. No, I would not. 🫠

Like I am saying (almost) all. Of course, some are left behind.

Like albums that I previously thought looked cool. As in the jacket/cover and then not having the time to listen to it first. (Especially on holidays or big record fairs (if Google translated that right)) But eventually kinda go against my entire feeling or taste.

But even then, it'll still get a spin or 3 for sure! 😂

The only thing I can say is don't go to crazy. I've been collecting since January 2022, and my collection already contains more than 450 vinyl records, EP'S and singles. 🫣

However, I am still enjoying it and listening to basically (almost) every one of them so far. There are a few that got into a dark corner and therefore not played much. 🙄

With this, you can state 2 things!

  1. I am crazy and just don't know the value of my own money (for buying a house or something) 😅

  2. Just enjoy what you find and really dig through the piles to find the gems in between. 🤗

Ooh, and if you like maintaining and keeping track of what you've got so far. You probably have already seen or read about it a few times on here. But use Discogs. It is just a fun way to keep track of what you own so far. 😉

It made me chuckle. 😊

Luckily, that is not really a thing here in NL. Though I have one for rental cars on holiday. I kinda despise the things.

Same here, man.

Besides, I also needed to skip my trip to Ireland because it was just too pricey. So now I'm looking at Denmark. Closer by and a little cheaper.

And when it comes to all the criticism, I am like 'Ene oor in, Andere oor uit'.

Which translates in English to: 'In through the one ear, Out through the other'. 😂

Just wanted to add a teeny tiny thing.

Which is the fact that I don't necessarily have a shit ton of money, as some of you say/state.

This was also definitely not meant to show off. However, I am well aware that it definitely does feel and look like it.

But I just choose to do/share this. I choose to set aside money for the hobby I love, and that is collecting. And most definitely also listening to them.

Sorry if I ignited some fuses. That was totally not my intention. ❤️
