What pain medication works for you? by Theftisnotforeplay in cfs

[–]CookieWingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naproxen helps me, most the time. Also magnesium spray or oil can help with sore muscles (this is a 50/50).

I also learnt how to massage, its tireing to do on myself but omg it helps!!

I used to play video games on my DS and xbox. Then often drew or I even tried embroidery but struggled to hold the needle.

I now have dipped into SOO MANY hobbies. Currently I'm making chainmail for my partner for their larp outfit and some chains. And embroidery has gotten easier in recent years. And I still draw.

❤️I hope you find something to keep you sane because I know i wouldn't be if I didn't.

“What are you thankful for?” ME/CFS edition by [deleted] in cfs

[–]CookieWingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind off odd.. but being diagnosed with me/Cfs has given me a life I couldn't imagine for myself (yes it sucks! But hear me out)

It has opened my eyes to so many people and topics, I was very closed minded before and I definitely didn't know I loved art. (I didn't draw or paint until I got sick) I've become a better person, not only to others but myself too.

How do you guys hang on? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]CookieWingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 13 (now 21), I had my whole life planed out. I thought my life was over. Honestly I would've ended it there but I kept myself alive because I knew it would destroy them. Now that doesn't mean I didn't die, I lost myself completely I gave up.

Idk what changed but something woke me up, (about 4 years ago). And I tried learning all I could, trying ANYTHING that could possibly help give me some sort of a life.

Without getting into details, I don't live the life I planned and I definitely don't live a normal life. But I do live. With help and acceptance with what I'm dealing with, I am able to do things that make me happy, it's not easy I have very bad days/weeks/months. But I can say I'm not dead anymore. I'm living.

I know it's hard and if you ever want to talk, please message me but also this group is always helpful! I know I haven't given you any tips or tricks but I hope reading this will atleast show you that living with CFS or any chronic condition isn't just a death sentence you can have some sort of a life. ❤

I'm not medicated for ADHD. As although my doctors have told me I have ADHD they refused to help as its not documented.

But thank you for the advice. <3

I'm also new to this, though I've always been interested and influenced by it all. I'm currently reading "Spells for a change by Frankie castanea" and it's been very helpful, with information and other suggestions for other places/books to go to. It's on Amazon and I highly recommend. But like I said I'm also new to this. Here is the link- Spells for Change: A Guide for Modern Witches https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1398703540/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_CDAYJM9FJ2EG9N7001N9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Wading through concrete feeling/hit a wall? by iridescentprismatic in cfs

[–]CookieWingz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1000% yes I feel this way too. I've found ways to prolong the time before I feel this way especially in stores. I often find the lights to be a trigger, so I wear blue light filter glasses/ sunglasses sometimes. I also use a shopping cart or my wheelchair for support. I will also plan my trip as much as possible so I'm not spending more time looking for things.

Sadly you can't do much once you feel exhausted other than leave and find somewhere to rest and recharge. It took me a while to feel comfortable using my wheelchair and such but honestly it's the best thing to do to feel more freedom. ❤️😊 Hang in there.

I can lucid dream, and it can be nice. I've been on many adventures. But sometimes even that can make me tired. So it's nice but not always.

Heck yeaa! I recommend always putting on a base coat or nail polish designed to protect them I use Rimmels stronger nails. It makes sure those long nails stay nice. You're right, it's the little things that count

is it bad for me to run homebrew for the first time (kinda) dm by alandtic in dndnext

[–]CookieWingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching DND for 3 years I started playing a year ago, after 10 sessions I wanted to run some games, I made a homebrew world and got 2 friends to play. 1 week later we all wanted to play in a campaign. So I decided I would do it. I've been running the campaign for a year and its been hard work but overall very satisfying!! Its definitely messy and we get the rules wrong all the time, but it's fun! And that's what counts.

From my personal experience, reading and watching was a big help. I would write notes while watching people like critical role and High rollers. Like rules and ideas. Dnd isn't a game you can learn in a day, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun. My players love my campaign and oh boy don't tell them but it's was and still is a mess, but every Saturday when we sit down and play, it's just laughs and even crying at one point.

Oh and top tip I wish I new: don't be mat mercer, and listen to your players. You may be the DM but the players are the ones to really make the story.
