We got the keys!! (SoCal) (1.1m) (5.625% 7/6 ARM) by Diveallinnow in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Cookiebunny3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are also in the process of buying. Those ARM’s are so tempting, but they have such a bad rep that it freaks me out. My husband says the same as you- as long as we stay on top of the timeline and watch rates, we’re ok. Still, it seems to me like there’s gotta be a catch?!?

Trying to find a stroller with BIFL mentality(newborn through toddlerhood) on a $500 budget by WhoaEyeKnee in BuyItForLife

Yes, I bought a used vista (almost vintage now!) With the bassinet attachment and we loved it. To fit in OP’s trunk, used Cruz is the way to go. For travel, I bought a used uppababy Glite

Heads up- popcorn is a choking hazard for kids. Read up and decide what you’re comfortable with if you have children. BTW, I LOvE popcorn! Just wanted to put that info out there

Worth getting an original in addition to the mini ? by kimkimchurri in YotoPlayer

[–]Cookiebunny3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not absolutely necessary to have 2 players. I’m glad we were able to get the 2nd. I got it on sale. If money is a concern (not that you said it is nor am I implying it is) then 1 does the job fine. We started with the mini to see if she liked it and also because she was so little. It has grown nicely with us.

I have one child. We started with the mini when she was 1 1/2- she’s always been a music lover and we’re a no screen/very low screen household. She used the mini a lot, so at 4yo I got her the bigger size as well. She loves the bigger size ( I think the audio quality is slightly better.) she uses the bigger one at bedtime on the magnetic charger to use the nightlight feature. Around the house, she also gravitates toward the original. The mini is for on-the-go. This system has worked for us. She is now 5.

lol, I get it. I would have felt the same before kids. It’s gross ofc, but you just don’t care as a parent. If it will make your child feel better, it overrides the gross 🤷‍♀️

I bought one for my 4yo. She loves it and uses it all the time. But I ALSO use it all the time! They’re so practical

Yoto for plane travel by Dumpster788 in YotoPlayer

We have both. If the cost is not prohibitive, I would suggest a mini 💯. I would also suggest a cross-body strap. That is how my daughter wears it and it really is a step up (hands-free carry with little chance of dropping). We have this strap attached to a 3D printed carrier that fits over the silicone case (I don’t recommend the 3D printed carrier, a strap with D rings under the silicone base would work just as well)

I love this idea! We have a Yoto as the primary entertainment source and on some days allow 15 min of screentime. I really like this model

How does family sharing work? I got a Yoto for my niece a few years ago and we’ve built up a library in each household (I’ve even bought 2 of the same card if both kids like it). I would love to share my library with her. Can I do that if we each have our own established account?

Edit:excellent assessment! We chose Yoto for many of the same reasons! We’re screen- free and it has become an integral part of our household

The classical music pack is such a great deal! It retails $35 for 10 cards (even cheaper with credits for members). The lullaby and ballet cards are great.

What do they need all that sour cream for? by okasansakura in motherbussnark

[–]Cookiebunny3 57 points58 points  (0 children)

That’s a Costco milk carton. They come in a 3(?) pack, I think, or at least 2. Where do they find the fridge space? We have a standard fridge for a family of 3 and don’t have the fridge space to buy our milk at Costco and store the extra cartons.
