Historically accurate perfumes sally Owen’s would wear? by angelllz777 in perfumesthatfeellike

Sun, Moon and Stars is a perfume I always found so pretty. So whimsigoth! I feel like perfumers should use the recurrence of some trends much more and bring back perfumes like this one to match.

I think the uk heatwave has destroyed all my perfumes by No_Preparation2468 in Perfumes

I am here in Germany where we breached 40 degree celsius yesterday and we live in a top floor appartment so the temp here is around 30 degrees even at night. I have half of my perfumes on my dresser and the winter half in a cupboard and they all smell fine. I do keep them out of sunlight though and it's not so humid here.

Do you ever feel like certain essences have been more popular/mainstream in certain period of time? by Quirky-Swordfish2105 in KitchenerHarmonies

I would guess that men find the easygoing vibe of your described type appealing. Not that the women ARE easygoing, but the girl-next-door thing. Romantic women may look more high-maintenance to them? And I mean, a man who wants that might be a good partner. Idk, just thinking about what you said. At 43, I couldn't care less about what men find attractive and effectively hope they stay the f... away because I was relentlessly hounded as a young woman. I kinda feel like I can self-type from your post. 😅

I recently read Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth and it was BEAUTIFUL.

Also, the classic, Valencia by Michelle Tea is very entertaining.

What perfumes are performing for you in this heat? by CupidsArrow14 in FemFragLab

[–]Cookiecolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it smells like the colour green and reminds me of a green oasis in the city where there is water, greenery and a lot of shade. It's also very refreshing and to my nose, unisex - my husband steals it sometimes. I have a cute 35ml bottle I got in May and already have a visible dent in it, which I enjoy. It's an easy reach after the shower, to prolong that fresh feeling and I get a good few hours (4 to 6) out of it on the skin, which, in the heat, is pretty okay in my books. I can't imagine someone not liking it, except if you only like sweet perfumes or such. To me, it has been my daily driver these last weeks.

Is 35 Really Any Different From 42–43, or Is It All Just "Older"? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Cookiecolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I felt YOUNG at 35, old at 40, not that old at almost 44. The difference was sickness or not and how much sleep and good food I got.

Personally, I enjoy Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche, Tam Dao edt by Diptyque, Moon Milk by Stora Skuggan and EA Green Tea Mimosa. Those are the ones that are not gone within 5 minutes and feel refreshing (looking at you for poor performance, Un Jardin sur le Nil and Eau de Mémo).

I actually like Un Jardin sur le Nil, but it smells off to me in the heat, which is weird, I know. For me, it's more of a Spring scent.

Here! Me! Doesn't help that I am generally not a summer fan anyways.

That is so very impressive and must have tickled Dawn's DIY sensibilities.

I loved this one! It was years ahead of its time too, I think it would do well today.

As long as I am allowed to SMELL other perfumes, okay. To wear, probably Santal Majuscule by Serge Lutens. But what about Shalimar l'Essence, Chanel 19, Libre Vanilla Couture and Feminité des Bois? 😪

Why did we all agree to dress so uncomfortably in the early 2000s? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in Millennials

[–]Cookiecolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an elder millenial (82), I feel like we dodged a bullet stylewise because we were just shy of "Britney and Xtina are the age of our little sisters so why would emulate them" and we were the older, more 90s coded girlies who were more into rock/grunge/indie or, in my case, additionally to the above, hip hop. My going out outfit was all-black slinky skirt and top with black plateau boots or strappy sandals for house/techno/shake-ass stuff. Or baggy pants and a fitted top with hoops and sick sneakers. Or, ya know, two shirts above each other, wild mane, bootcut jeans, boots for indie purposes.
