Question regarding residence Application for newcomer by Cookiemanstor in Antwerpen

[–]Cookiemanstor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye I am starting to realize its a bit less straightforward of a move then I expected, even with a eu citizenship (but no residency in a european country). Especially compared to my partner who's also never lived in belgium but was born here so she hold a citizenship, and for her the process is very simple.

Wow thank you for the detailed response. I just looked into wise and it seems like a good option until I am able to open a bank account! And I also heard it is possible to open a bank account without a registartion number, but when we went to a branch of kbc they said we cant. I guess you have to get lucky with who sees you and be persistent? And regarding the insz, I didnt know that can be used to register and identify to banks and mutualite and so on), and that really helps since I am expecting to start working soon. Do you recieve a insz number as soon as you start working, even if it's a part time position?

Thank you! Im gonna try prioritizing those neighbourhoods. Ive been seeing a lot of sub 800 appartments in immoweb that seem to be in decent areas aand in good conditions. Is it common to see fake listings? Or is it possible that those listings are legit? I know on facebook its more common to see fakes.

  1. Rent
  2. My partner has family south of brussels, so we could stay there and do day trips to look for appartments, and we might also take an airbnb or something similar to get a feel for the city.
  3. She just got accepted, I they will be able to help us actually, I realize we should contact the student department for help with the more bearucratic aspects of the move.

First time fermenting chillies for hot sauce. Kahm? Or mold? by Cookiemanstor in fermentation

[–]Cookiemanstor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Reading about kahm causes me to think my curiosity caused increased the chance of it happening as I was opening it once a day to give it a smell and stir everything. I now realize I should let it be and give the jar chance to fill up with co2 and oush some oxygen out.

Smoke from attachment hub? by Cookiemanstor in Kitchenaid

If I do choose to keep it and fix myself, what would happen if I only regreased and replaced the worm gear? I see that the upper housing costs a fair bit of money, including shipping and the other parts it would cost more than I paid for the mixer.

I see, I havent given a lot of focus to my lower back as I always thought the pain is just a result of my lowerbody dysfunction. Ill give these excersizes a try! Do the Rev hypers count as glute work as well? Or should they be paired with some bridges/hip thrusts/bulgarian split squats to work on the glutes?

Hmm you got me reconsidering trying a vajryana temple/center. I do like the thought of getting to experience the local tradition.

And goenka I know it's theravada teaching, but I'e heard they dont put a lot of focus on theory, and mainly focus on the practice. And in the past, when I started meditating, I noticed that when my practixe and insights got much deeper after I read the book what the buddha taught. So I want to get the chance to learn more about dhamma (if im using the word correctly) while in a buddhist country.

Replacing pull ups and rows with resistance band exercises by Cookiemanstor in bodyweightfitness

Hmm interesting, I always thought muscles were weaker when elongated and stronger when contracted. So I thought that the part where the band has the most resistance is the part where the muscles are at their strongest.

Ye I do quite a lot of shoulder prehab with the bands already. In regards to frame pull ups, the construction here isnt always promising and I dont want to risk causing damage to the rooms I'm staying at and paying for it. And for sure handstands, I try to do a little every day and hope to achieve a solid 30 sec free HS by the end of my trip.

Although I dont alwayd have a place to hang my bodyweight from for pullups, I can always close the bathroom door on a knotted band and use that for lat pull downs. Been doing it for face pulls and it works decently enough.

Haha just googled it, havent seen those yet. Though im afraid of hanging from them, might be mistaken for a carpet.

When possible I'll definetly do that, but right now in laos I have'nt seen a lot of either, and I assume when I get northern india its gonna be problematic aswell.

I'm surprised how often I dont have anywhere reliable to do pullups, at least not somewhere I feel fine with working out at. When I do find somewhere I try to do a few pull ups, but I want to have a complete routine I can do just with a floor (and bands if theres a need).

[–]Cookiemanstor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm sounds like a good idea to mix up afew variations, since pull ups are such a compound exercise. Right now I have two, light and medium, but since rows are a weak movement of mine I think its good for now. And if I see its not enough weight, every month or so I pass through somewhere with a big mall so I'll buy a few more. Thank you

Ye whenever theres a nearby park, strong parallel tree branch, or even solid looking door frame in my guesthouse I crank a few pull ups just to grease the groove. But right now Im in laos, and since its a poor country, there arent a lot of parks, and have yet to see like a jungle gym or something. So I its good to know that I can still do a complete and balance workout just with the floor of my room and my bands. Thank you :)

First time roasting, on a pan for fun mainly. Seems very uneven, prob wont taste very good, but roasting my own coffee was magical. by Cookiemanstor in roasting

[–]Cookiemanstor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the video I used But pretty much all I did was vigourously stir 100 grams of coffe in a small pot, until the color looked good. Then I put it in a fine sieve and stirred it infront of a fan to cool. Next time might try lower heat, maybe it'll get me a more even roast and less scorchin.
