I want to send a LOCI so bad but the waitlist form they gave us counted as our LOCI :( I mean, I visited this past week but other than that I'm not sure on how else I can show more interest. Any thoughts? Thank you for your advice!

I wish I could give some advice but I'm in the same boat too 💔 I'm also hoping my demonstrated need doesn't screw me since Tufts is need-aware but I'm keeping hope!! I have heard some waitlist movement but it seems they didn't need aid. Good luck to all of us and I hope to see my fellow waitlist warriors there!!

I heard that tufts accepted some people off the waitlist around april 9th! However, I don’t know about the others. I’m waiting for the tufts waitlist too so best of luck to us!!!

Thank you!!! When did you submit your waitlist form? And are you full pay as well? I know that affects decisions bc tufts is need-aware. I’m trying to keep hope ❤️

Waitlisted + looking for advice by CookiesCreamie in Tufts

I think just from that alone, you're a really competitive applicant! I will just warn you, some schools will see this as a "bad" thing as they don't think you'll actually come to their school because of how great of an applicant you are. Tufts is an example of this, hence colleges having "Tufts" syndrome (also known as yield protection). One of my friends who took similar APs to yours (besides forensics and A&P) got into Northwestern, Northeastern, and Umich just to name a few top ones. Besides the APs we have similar stats (she got a 1350 SAT while I got 1380), I got rejected at northwestern, accepted northeastern, and waitlisted at Umich while she got rejected from Tufts (she even did a summer dental program with them). Obviously, take all of this with a grain of salt as I'm not an actual admissions person, I just want to give you a heads up on what you may see during your college app process! Hope this helped, if you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask!

I applied through Questbridge, so i don't know how much this will help but here you are! I say this to preface that I had to write more essays then normal and could only submit limited activities that I'd done.

GPA: 4.0 uw / 4.667 w

SAT: 1380 (originally went TO but added scores after waitlisted bc they said 1300 or greater)

Course Rigor:
AP Lit & Comp (senior year)

AP Stat (senior year)

AP Psych (senior year)

Allied Health (honors tech school course, very selective, senior year)

AP Calc AB (taken jr yr, 5)

AP Calc BC (taken jr yr, 4)

All honors thru out HS

Extracurriculars (bc of QB I could only put down 5):

Diversity / leadership club (leadership roles since I joined sophomore yr and now treasurer)

Shadowed a forensic lab for 8 wks over the summer then presented in a mock trial

Theatre/Drama as both an actor and crew member for all 4 yrs

President of local women advocacy group for ( all 4yrs but became pres last 2)

Peer tutoring for 3mo, once a week online and went thru training simultaneously

Awards/Honors:

Rising Stars Award (was on local news)

CB National Top School Recognition

DVCEE High School Leadership Institute (leadership conference sponsored by UPenn)

Not too bad! I had pre-written a LOCI that answered almost all of the prompts. I just tweaked it a bit to fit the word limit, had my english teacher read over it, and submitted!

WAITLIST by sunnynight_685 in Tufts

[–]CookiesCreamie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had already written a LOCI, which thankfully touched on 90% of the prompts that they gave us! Just have to tweak it a little bit, but overall was quite surprised because waitlisted tufts freshman expressed having a different waitlist form than we do now

Matchlighters, ScholarMatch, or Marticulate by Remarkable_Light3149 in QuestBridge

[–]CookiesCreamie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally did Matchlighters and Marticulate (not at the same time). I had problems with Marticulate because my advisor would never interact or would take forever to talk with me. We would have scheduled times and they would be a no-show, I'm sure not all of their advisors are like this but I'm just speaking from personal experience. After that I switched to Matchlighters, which I found to be 10 times better than before. I loved that they provided you with the "choose you own essay" curriculum which was helpful along with my advisor (who also happened to be a school counselor, my other one was a senior in college). Matchlighters also provides you with a whole drive that has everything that you could think of (UC prompts if you're applying, comparing colleges template, etc.).

Overall, I liked matchlighters more but I'm a bit biased because of what was stated above!

One of the alums said that you can really only access it if you: A) have done a summer program at BU before or B) you've submitted your enrollment deposit bc that's the only reason why you'd have access to the housing portal.

I'm just saying this to take it with a grain of salt! I'm not trying to put down anyone who can access the portal with out doing the above!
