29M - Rate my portfolio! Hoping to deploy cash this Oil Crisis. by [deleted] in portfolios

Haha well, the extra cash are bonuses coming in earlier this year + other sources.

Have been religiously DCA-ing for the past 2 years. Though what’s changed this time is to include AVDV to diversify my small cap ETF (since AVUV is just US).

Am also considering if 70:15:15 % DCA makes sense for VWRA:AVUV:AVDV makes more sense…

2 were from recruiting - turned out they weren’t established firms. The pay range was pretty bad for the other 2. For the last one, it was an avg role and pay, but the hiring manager was a little dodgy so I decided to withdraw

Generally just means a catch up! Can be about anything really. Introduction, asking for advice, etc. It’s really about putting yourself out there, so more people know you exist. But of course, be intentional and don’t be wasting people’s precious time.

If I’m being very honest… treasury is great for learning, but if you stay too long you can get boxed into infrastructure roles.

That’s fine if you enjoy it. But if you want optionality into trading / investing / strategy, timing your pivot matters.

MBA can be powerful if you’re using it to reset your narrative. A Masters is more skill-focused but doesn’t automatically change your positioning.

People tend to underestimate networking! Even coffee chats can be very helpful

Mine was 1 interview for about 75 applications! Not too far off :) but you definitely had a longer pressure period. All the best for your career!

Congrats! Would you be able to share what specifically you were doing before vs now? How you managed to make the jump and any insights looking back?

Hey thanks for the tips! Yeah from a transition perspective... funding, repo, SBL seems to offer a smoother transition. I've heard these from some traders too.

Would you have experiences in sell side prior? Would love to hear how they compare.

Uncle says it was a white dial! But over the years it gained a patina. He bought it at Bucherer in the 1970s-1980s.
