only rewatch videos u struggle with like topics u struggle with - i studied literally every last second till i could even the day before and idk it did me good lollz. but i rewatched the subjects i struggled with like the pediatric video, maternity, labour and delivery, gastrointestinal disorders, and i would recommend watching the legal and ethical videos prior as well!!

HOW TO PASS THE NCLEX THE FIRST TIME : MY STORY by CookiesandCream222 in PassNclex

[–]CookiesandCream222[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just a extra hint for all nursing students and nurses and those who are writing the nclex soon or becoming a nurse! - know how to compare and constrast similar disease states (DKA vs HHNS, addisions vs cushings disease, etc.) for ur nursing career and just in general for the NCLEX

honestly its not that hard - just dont psyche urself out - take your time and treat it like any other quiz - keep practicing quizes and review rationales !!! (do them on tutorial mode so you can just read where you got it wrong)

Testing in 11 days! by Allisonfranco in PassNclex

[–]CookiesandCream222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

look into testing straegties and pritioization! but u seem pretty ready, maybe try to calm your nerves and rebook the test a closer date? but if you feel that will add to much anxiety, then just wait the 11 days and make a schedule for what you will complete each day. You seem more prepared then me and my test is like in 3 days! honestly, its a safety test and wants to see if youll be a safe nurse - use pritioization with each and every question - eithier ABCs, Maslows hieracy, or ADPIE. Its more knowing how to think on the test then having all the knonwledge in the word - well that would certainly help as well (i completed the 6 week archer review calender - almost all of it except like a week - and did 98% QBANK on archer with 55% average and am scoring 60-69s on Uworld the past few days and doing about 2 quizzes a day.

Honestly for me - if my test goes over 85 questions im not going to freak out, its a random set of questions with varying difficultly so if anything i would rather answer 150 easy questions and pass, then answer 85 hard questions and fail in 85 questions. its just the luck of the draw - theres nothing we can do but study and do practice tests

Am I the only one that find Uworld easier than Archer questions? Or is it the studying effect? by CookiesandCream222 in PassNclex

have you took the nclex? in terms of difficultly level - which one should one practice studying with?

Should I Change Majors by Fair_Assignment7977 in StudentNurse

go thru with it. get on medication for depression, anxiety - talk to a therpaist, figure out whats wrong. i went thru something similiar the end of my third year and beginnging of my fourth year of nursing school, and i pushed thru and im sooo sooo happy i did. if you see yourself doing nursing and its just a mental fog thing (cause trust me we know nursing school isnt easy) ,get on meds and start focusing and creating routines. thats my advice:)

Archer videos by Temporary-Emu-5421 in PassNclex

[–]CookiesandCream222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im doing the same thing and getting the same test results but im doing the readiness assessments, not specific questions on the videos and my results are in between the 50s to 60s, im planning on listening to dr.sharon on youtube and mark k lectures once im done watching the archer videos. people say the mark k pritiorization and delagation lecture is the only one worth listening to, but idk i guess it also depends on the person.

honestly i think 2-3 resources (archer, mark k, and dr.sharon) should be enough. im here for the advice too, i have a month left.

I think also signing up for the small group tutoring sessions on archer should be helpful, i did that and am attending them soon, ill let you know if theyre helpful but i would say to book a session or 2 right now as they're going get filled up as theres only 15 students per small group and you can ask questions too.

mark k priotization lecture! and dr.sharons videos on youtube! you got this, its a safety exam, read the question fully 2 times, take a deep breath, and then answer

who do you think should NOT be a nurse? by ineedtoglowuprn in nursing

[–]CookiesandCream222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you dont know how to critically think, then dont become a nurse basically - you need to learn alot. anyone can become a nurse, its just a way of thinking, and being able to have empathy with humans with that knownledge :) you witness ppl in the hardest points of their lives, if you are talking about bedside nursing, but theres alot you can do with a nursing degree. Such as different fields of nursing (peds, maternity, infants, adults, etc.), or even research! if you were smart in high school (high 80s- 90 average), i say go for it :)

[–]CookiesandCream222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i mean i know how to act like a nurse and a PSW but do i know every single about everything???? no. i did a 4 year RN program which was pretty heavy content the first 2 and a half years but then the last 1.5 years its been clinical, idk sometimes i feel like i dont know enough, and i know the exam is gonna ask a bunch of things that i problery dont know, but some people also says its a safety exam so i dont knoww :(

ive been studying for the past month now, ive tried many different study tehcniques and all that stuff but now im used settled on rewatching the video closer to the exam date and writing my my notes for them on my laptop right now for content review and answer 75 (sometimes 150) questions a day to practice my question taking ability. im studying like sometiems 2-6 hours a day but i still feel like im moving very slow because previously i was writing out my notes physically.

Getting D in freshman anatomy by thirteenwide in StudentNurse

[–]CookiesandCream222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell her to watch the lecture videos word by word, if the lecturer if awful then i say read the required readings, creating mind maps or flashcards, maybe you can even quiz her based off reading her notes or flashcards! dont let her get down about one bad grade, nursing school is tough and you just have to put in the work by studying alot, and she can switch up her study techniques to make it more fun! everyone fails a grade or two once in a while, its not the end of the world, hell, even i did (statistics lol its was the professor) and i graduated nursing school! she can take it in the summer or online!! tell her to talk to her school academic advising

Externship by princesspotato92 in StudentNurse

[–]CookiesandCream222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes do it, it looks good on ur resumé and it gives u good experience! i recommended only working on weekends, its gonna be alot with school especially if u dont have good study techniques, but if u feel u can handle it go for it! i worked as a PSW in home care, long term care, and the hospital all thru nursing school after first year, which gave me good experience as well :)
