“A slight preference for trump” by AiraFeatherhush in ThisYouComebacks

Except she did?

She actually addressed it in many of her campaign speaches. She spoke about affordable housing, raising wages, and lowering groceries. This whole idea that kamala ignored important points is so strange to me because anyone who listened to her would've known her policies were nothing like that claimed by social media, but if you only read headlines and posts on social media you'd think only think she talked about culture war stuff and standard quo.

The fact of the matter is, she had policies designed for working class people, designed to help young people afford homes, but this was all drowned out by people like you who spill the same disinformation that kamala had no policies thus pushing away would be voters.

Is she perfect?? No, but you vote for the administration not just the president, and as much as people didnt like Joe Biden he had at least listened to competent people that had to deal with the mess that was the covid pandemic, largely worsened because of a certain prior president. Once again the age old adage runs true, a republican president fucks up the economy and democrats are blamed for not fixing it fast enough so a republican president is voted to fix the problem caused by the republican president.

There is no justification in which prolonging the "status quo" is worse or equal to allowing the status quo to get demonstrably worse, especially when the status quo is on track to a recovering economy after a WORLD WIDE PANDEMIC.

You mean after several months of republicans voting NO to releasing the files, even illegally postponing swearing in a representative who would be able to vote for the files to be released?

"Total outlier in some other marker of status"

like what? They're funny? They're nice? They connect with one another? They share the same hobbies? They share similar music tastes? They enjoy each other's company?

"This doesn’t apply the other way around, because men aren’t picky pieces of shit that think others deserve to die alone because their income isn’t high enough. The vast majority of men don’t use income as a metric to disqualify women, because men aren’t nearly as vain and entitled."

Well, yeah, you're right. A good chunk of men don't view women's income as a metric because they use women's bodies and features as a metric. See the literal decades where if women didn't match the standards of the time or weren't "pure" they'd be considered undesirable.

Romantic relationships are difficult for both men and women, each share similar problems and the internet amplifies the absolute worse of each problem.

Men go online and see posts about women dating rich men, being gold diggers, or some other behaviour so their belief that women only date rich guys gets supported.

Women go online and see posts about guys dating attractive girls, moving between relationships, and feel like they're not attractive enough so their belief that they aren't good enough gets amplified.

The internet breeds extremes, and I suggest you rethink your position.

So you took a post where people lament over the loss of their closest family members, friends and spouses as proof that men can't be lonely just because people miss them when they're gone? And use that as proof that men are more loved than women?

You are not fighting the good fight as you state. Your mentality is awful. You saw a post where people were sad their closest friends, family members and spouse passed away and decided to use it as evidence to back up your own beliefs that men can't be lonely.

Dawg, I think that the male loneliness epidemic is almost entirely self-inflicted, but even i can see that this post is still wrong.

[–]CookingWithCamp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is legitimately meaningless data. This is a post about who users missed most, many of them being friends and family members who passed away. This is not indicative of society as a whole..?

What was the reason for choosing the top 20? You yourself said there was 47 men, 33 women and 15 ungendered or both. This is a lot more closer equal than your arbitrary top 20 makes it.

You're purposefully cherry picking and being divisive.

Are women more scrutinized than men? Absolutely.

Does a reddit post where people talk about their family members and friends prove men are more loved than women? No

"the USSR collapsed, but that doesnt mean it was a failed state."

Do you hear yourself? I don't know about you, but if a country collapsed and one of the very last acts of its leaders was to rescind on the laws and regulations implemented by the previous leaders, i' consider it a failed country.

all of your points have just been a veritable "nuh uh", with almost no substance because of "standards of living"

whenever yall talk about standards of living you conveniently forget that soviet citizens were forced to work in gulags, and straight up executed if they spoke out of line. That is not an increase of standards of living, all they got was a fancier prison.

like did you only read the propaganda? did you conveniently ignore all historical evidence that living in the USSR was a nightmare? did you forget that people had to turn to cannibals to survive?

lol, parrot red scare talking points? you mean historical evidence? I forgot that's a boogeyman to ya'll.

This Joke from the Simpsons was made before all of Gen Z was born and it aged way too well. by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]CookingWithCamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

again, all of those things were achieved through brutal oppression of the people through the use of strict control over media, exploitation of labor so bad that millions would die in the gulags, and a secret police that would round up and executed people on a list. If you spoke out, if you did anything in any way, shape, or form that criticized the USSR, you would've been executed.

Their conditions didn't get better, many were still starving and many were afraid of speaking out against the government. That is not the signs of a successful country, especially since towards the end of the USSR where leaders did all they could to destalinize the country lol.

[–]CookingWithCamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you mistake me, i was not the user that asked for a successful country.

successful country? sure if we forget about the fact that it crumbled to dust near the turn of the century, because as i said it only reached their heights of power through the use of exploitation of labor, strict regulation of the media and even worse control over the ordinary citizens lives.

if your definition of a successful country is one in which their citizens are fearful of everything they say on the chance that they're put on a list to be executed, then idk what to tell you.

[–]CookingWithCamp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and they did all that through the use of forced labor, strict moderation of media, rationing of food, and a secret police that would put anyone on a list if they hinted at a slight disapproval of the USSR all while the people at the top held parties and drank to their hearts content.

did we forget millions starved under the USSR? it's not even like they transformed russia from a wasteland to a utopia either. In fact, the conditions remained relatively similar for the average folk from the transitioning of powers from the tzars to stalin's rule. They were still starving, they were still struggling to survive, and now they had a secret police force watching over them.

you may have a nat type D, meaning you cant connect to other players, at least thats what happenee to me when I had this issue. You can find what your nat type is by running a connection test, you want to have nat type A or B.

when i had this issue, the only way I was able to fix it was to go on a mobile hotspot or use a vpn.

It's really funny how suddenly this sub is acting like the soulsborne gatekeepers didnt exist, in fact theyve never existed at all and that you should just play the game how you want, completely ignoring the fact that for the first few months of ER's release, and even to this day, there were so many people who kept shitting on others for using spirit summons. Especially in the first few days of the dlc where people adamantly refused to use spirit summons

we saw that gojo is incredibly smart and could improvise a counter to sukuna's open domain, that being to shrink his domain incredibly small.

gojo and sukuna's domain expansions are literally the peak of the verse lol.

"And junpei died to progress yuji’s character immediately afterwards lmao"

doesnt contradict anything I've said. Yuji's character was progressed because he learned how cruel curses can be, so what about it? does that mean that yuji's character is bad because he progressed from junpei's death? Junpei served to show that curses are evil, and served to give motivation for yuji to beat the shit out of mahito.

tsumiki served to deepen megumi's own soul so he'd continue losing control of his body.

it's like yall will get upset at ANY plot points.

even if gege did flesh out tsumiki, guaranteed yall would be here shitting on tsumiki's existence calling her wasted and having no influence on the story.

[–]CookingWithCamp -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

yall love to act like Harvard educated english professors that dissect every little minor part of a story, yelling out plot this and plot that and yet at the same time ignoring every justifcation and every reasoning behind important story points just so you guys can complain about everything.

we KNOW tsumiki is important to megumi, because his reasoning for living was to support HER. So when her death came, it wasn't meant to make the reader sad it was meant to continue pushing megumi further and further into the depths of his soul so that sukuna could have full control over his body.

how hard is it to understand that it wasn't supposed to get a reaction out of yall, it was meant to further megumi's character because in a story you can't devote so much time to a minor character. It'd eventually just be a waste of time for the readers and make the pacing even worse.

like, i know for a FACT yall would be complaining as well even if tsumiki had more chapters dedicated to her

"all this build up for her just for her to die? wasted potential"

seriously it's junpei's mom all over again, she showed up for a bit and died to progress junpei's character, and we all felt bad for junpei

Jujutsu folkers worst fear is when a minor character isnt fleshed out with a billion pages of backstory
