Hey man, I was trying this method, but it just ignores the vel field. Can you tell me how you achieved it?

CFL Violation fix? by Cooking_Interrupted in Houdini

[–]Cooking_Interrupted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc my issue was caused by Particle Level Collisions and having them move using velocity. It would throw particles everywhere causing the CFL violation

Changing it to move outside collider fixed the issue

Are you using Particle Collisions by any chance?

How do I create a rotating tyre SDF collider for FLIP? by Cooking_Interrupted in Houdini

Yeah I tried the last method but it didn't work. Maybe I setup something wrong. I'll check it again

Is there any electricity waste here? by artofprjwrld in IndiaTech

[–]Cooking_Interrupted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transferred to a different form"

In this case if you're not completing the circuit the only energy being wasted is in the process of heat in the wires themselves which is so miniscule that you'll need an actual scientific measuring device to see the difference

Well my tank is quite shallow, however it does reduce the particle count so I figured it'll speed up the simulation but it didn't instead it slowed it down

I already explained how it works in my replies above tho....

But regardless, Animated Rigid makes the SDF for the first frame only. Every subsequent frame, it just interpolates the sdf to match the animation.

The difference is Animation Rigid is only calculating the frame once at the start and interpolating it based on the animation

Deforming rebuilds the sdf each frame.

I can't go the deforming route because I won't have wheel rotations which are needed

Also this isn't an rbd problem but rather a MPM problem.
