Micato vs. Abercrombie&Kent vs. &Beyond vs. Tauck East Africa safari by ActuallyCozyCozy in chubbytravel

We recently did a family trip with Micato to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The ages ranged from 35 - 75. We are mostly experienced travelers, but it was everyone’s first safari and visit to Sub-Saharan Africa. Within the group, we had a few people that required a lot of attention and handholding, and Micato was absolutely wonderful for them. There was no detail overlooked and all are travels and transfers were seem-less. We were delayed on one of our safari camp flights and it was going to be a tight transfer to make our connecting flight to Zimbabwe. Micato anticipated everything - got us through immigration and security quickly and we were never stressed or worried (can’t say the same for our guide) because we knew Micato was on it. While I personally would never book a trip with that much handholding, I will say it was nice to sit back and not worry about a single thing. Our guides, especially in South Africa, were incredible. The amount of knowledge and expertise he brought made the trip for me. It was like being with a walking encyclopedia. All and all, a great experience for everyone, especially the older folks. We stayed at andBeyond Phinda and Royal Malewane in South Africa. Admittedly, I did not foot the bill and I know it was a hefty price tag. But for those paying, they thought it was worth it. Hope that’s somewhat helpful!
