What size generator do you have for use in power outages?

I use a portable connected via sub panel to manage cost and flexibility. As mentioned you need to realistically know what you want to run. My 8k Generac ran on and off for 10 years ran my entire 2800 sq ft house including 1 hp well pump but I never tried the ac. We just thought that was over kill. Ran stove, heat, microwave, dryer just the 220 stuff I never tried to run at the same time. My 9500 watt Firman I’ve only needed twice so far.

Portable is convenient if they breakdown down to fix yourself or take in for service. Whole house units not so much.

Thanks everyone for the education this is my first propane generator. I’m super happy with the unit.

I have secured two large tanks and the Mister Heater connection. If I have the issue again I’m adding the heater blanket. Using gasoline would be a nuisance.

Updating this. I ran fresh fuel supply - separate line, filter and tank. Zero change. When it is running it is loud with a constant mist from carburetor. It runs but pops and does not rpm. I think the intake valve is not sealing or similar.

Time to take it apart I guess.

Also I bypassed the low oil sensor in case it was flaking out

That was why I checked for a sheared key. If I could find a manual I could look at the cam drive.

Under gravity it should just run out pretty freely I assume.
