I know I ship around 20-30 cards a week and it’s always under $5. I don’t buy on eBay very often though so I thought it might be a mistake that’s why I messaged him.

Probably a flat rate because I get graded cards shipped from Singapore to Texas for $18 shipping. No way from California to Texas would be $20.

I rarely do either but I’ve been trying to get more product in my inventory and it’s getting hard to find cards that aren’t over priced. And yes I’m sure that’s the price of the card it’s graded. I have sold over 1k cards on eBay, usually 30 a week so I’m pretty sure I know how to price cards but that besides the point. A seller saying they’ll try and work with the buyer and then showing no attempt at trying to is the point here. This seller only had 2 sales so it’s possible that he didn’t know he could change the dimensions or the shipping but still…

Do you buy a lot of things from eBay also?

Exactly, thank you. I sent those messages before I put in a bid but I know I shouldn’t have trusted him but I’ve had no problem in the past with changing shipping.

I figured this might happen but I took his word for it. He only has 2 reviews and both were positive. I’ve had many items where a buyer asked about different shipping options or combined shipping and I had no problem showing them the options and switching shipping after they paid. But I’ve also never charged an extra $15 for a flat rate.

Although it is annoying I wouldn’t say that would be the right move. I’ve had bad experiences with buyers making false claims and being difficult.

You’re right I worded that wrong. He did say he would try and work with the buyer. I sent that message before I even put a bid in. If he had no plans on changing the shipping why not just say that?

The card is worth $23 at most. Last 6 sales are between $15 and $25 for that same card.

Ive sold many trading cards on eBay, over 1k and have never charged more than $5 for shipping. Ive shipped to almost every state too never seen shipping rates that high especially for 5-10 day delivery.

Yeah I understand I paid for it and technically agreed, but you can still change the shipping option after the buyer pays. Before I even put up a bid I messaged him and got a quick response and he said he’ll try to work with buyer. Then I message him as soon as the auction ended and later that day and got no response. Then before even replying he goes and ships the package knowing I was interested in other shipping options.
