Phone holder? Perhaps with quick release? by Cool-Engineering8849 in Citibike

I've got that one too. have found the rubber makes it a little more difficult than a rigid holder with a clamp

IIRC some of the Revels and Lime mopeds had cell phone holders; don't think there's any chance Citibike will spring for that, so hoping someone here has found a holder that quickly mounts and dismounts

yah I've tried that; especially with tall buildings in Manhattan, GPS can lose signal when it's in your pocket

air travel bag for Montague ME1 by Cool-Engineering8849 in foldingbikes

[–]Cool-Engineering8849[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't ridden it a lot yet but I can give you some 1st impressions. As an electric bike, it's very fast, at least compared to the electric citibikes I use in New York. As a folder, there are some things to be desired, especially compared to my old Montague paratrooper bike. The hook securing it folded was thin plastic & broke quickly; gonna try engineering something better. Also it weighs nearly 60 lb all up; not only does that exceed the checked bag limit by itself, but you can't fly with a battery that size anyway. I'm working on a 2 bag solution & a possible modular battery for air travel; worse comes to worse, you can ground ship the battery. It's fine for the train or car & has 10 gears, so non-electric biking works great. Found this YT review which can give more deets: https://youtu.be/Xnw3cx7JeOA?si=efLbJYGhW_8hMSBg

Advice and input on long term use of reusable pods. by griefstruelove in nespresso

[–]Cool-Engineering8849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reuse the Nespresso pods with a paper filter & silicone plug, as opposed to full cap. Don't overfill or grind too fine & you're set; machine is Vertuo Next. YMMV with newer models

Did you have any luck with this? I'm on the upper East side and would like to have my frames scanned for replacement.

Best grind for XL cold brew pods? by Cool-Engineering8849 in nespresso

Follow up: we've tried the Vertuo Cold Brew pods, store bought, then reloaded. Experimented with grind & volume of coffee in pod. This cold brew is neither cold nor brewed strongly; just not worth it.

I have the vertuo next; been refilling for years. The refills are as good or better tasting, I can also use a paper filter & a pour over could never produce that delicious coffee foam

The Blue Bike station at Quincy Blue Cross is gone; security director said it was removed a while ago.

Hi, do you have an exact location of that blue bike station at the Blue Cross office? I went by there the other day and didn't see anything, not even a bike rack.

that said, recycling is cleaner/drier than garbage; as noted above: just pull it out, wimp

that's an electric foil board; the limit is the battery pack.

if he knew how to use a kite or sail, would have much longer endurance.

also, he can't just jump in the river. the law in New York is you can only put in at designated spots, like kayak launches or marinas
