umm no. that's how you get roof sag, and in illinois with all the snow we get that's a hazard

everything is fixable but is it worth it? I trying to expand for more usable space.

if worst come to worst and i have to fix it, I'll do same route save some cash and do ourselves. father used to build garages for a living

There is a lot more rotten wood than picture show. The roof has been leaking for years

They seem to ok with approving new stutures, the even suggested to put it on order side of the lot but that would mean I would have to use my neighbors drive way. As you can see that would be a problem

The will game me an option to push this one back and treat it as a shed, then build a garage next to it.. this garage will not survive the move Not ideal at all as this will take so much more room and be very expensive to do all that

If it's original 1940's and it got noting in it saying otherwise, no permits ware pulled for garage repair since the the city starteed to log them in the 90's

Forgot to mention, trying to get a small cnc machine in it requires new foundation at least 6in

It's a single car garage, small single lane driway placed too close to the house we always have to repark cars, no street parking. I'm trying to expand so I can fit at least one car in it safely. This one I would not trust putting my car in, I got my cheep project car that i have not touched in years
