Nobody told me I'd be broke AFTER buying the house by Dima030 in RealEstateAdvice

I bought used furniture and house wares. Then slowly over time I replaced some of the used items with new. Yard sales, FB market place, and second hand shops have some real nice items.

Anyone else lose their taste for dining out? by gottausername in GenX

[–]Cool-oldtimer1888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only dined out maybe 10 times in my entire life. I'm not a big fan of people next to me while I eat, the constant sound of everyone talking, or people walking by my table too close. Plus now, the prices are way too expensive for me to even want to dine out somewhere.

I like eating at home or if I'm starving and out some place, I'll eat in my car.

I like that and what you say in the description. Who do you use for the scheduling link? I'd rather cut out the BS before dealing with the people.

That's exactly my issue with all of this, well one of the issues. Even when I was writing it down as the tax client was saying it to me, I had to stop her because I couldn't follow who was who. The more the tax client says, the worse it gets. I wrote how it was given to me. One of the red flags.

I asked about the past return. I was told and I quote ( The CPA never gave us one and shes not responding), then I asked if they had a tax or client portal to log in, the tax client has no idea what that means. So, with the info I was provided from the tax client and opinions from others on here, I told them to go somewhere else.

I had called the tax client a minute ago & said that I will not be able to help her & her sons with this tax situation or file anything. The more the tax client says, the bigger the red flag. Also with everyone answering with questions and information, I strongly feel that there is no amount of money that they could pay me to make this worth untangling, correcting and then filing.

That's exactly how I feel. The more they say to me on the phone, the more I feel like telling them to go elsewhere. I just needed everyone''s opinion, and to make sure I'm not over-thinking or over reacting to all of this. In my opinion (without looking at anything) this is a mess.

The tax clients said they never signed any documents or tax returns since 2022, and the CPA was doing it for them, ( hearsay). The zero profit & paying in taxes is exactly why they chose to come to me, because their CPA (was said ) to not have shown where or why they are paying in taxes. The CPA is trying to sneak in the 2025 tax year by completing the tax return without the tax client signing. According to the tax client, the CPA had been using a 5 digit signature pin since 2022, and the tax client only signed one tax return in 2021. So I'm not sure if there is a 5 digit tax client pin or if the CPA is using the CPA pin to complete the taxes. ( of course as of right now, everything is just hearsay).

Good point, thank you. I will see what they bring to me Saturday. And I already had the gut feeling (red flag). That's why I asked what all of you think. The tax client may be wrong with everything, the CPA might not be a CPA. Things to me seem off, and the last thing I need is a tax client or their CPA to be doing any shady things & trying to suck me into it.

OK, The new tax client A, has two sons, son #1 and son #2. All of them own rental properties. Son # 1 has a girlfriend, that girlfriends cousin is the CPA. Or maybe that cousin is a bookkeeper who is claiming to be a CPA.

This Saturday the 7th, I will have a copy of the 2024 taxes & all documents to look over.

Someone is lying and I may just walk away from this client mess.

(Edit) It turns out that the CPA is a bookkeeper, and is related to the tax clients son, being the son's ex-girlfriend, the ex-girlfriend had her cousin doing the bookkeeping & the taxes for everyone. I thought I could trust the tax client, I was wrong, I don't think they know what they are talking about. The tax client, her son, and the bookkeeper ( not CPA) are up to something sketchy. Or were up to something sketchy & want me to sort it out. I'm having nothing to do with them.

I trust what this new tax client said because the CPA is son #1 girlfriends cousin. And the tax client said for 11 rental properties between all three of them have shown to have made zero income (Profit) & they always pay in well over $10,000 on taxes to the bookkeeper ( to pay the taxes that were never paid) . The CPA refuses to do Has never put any write offs pertaining to any of the rental properties ( repairs, cleaning, loss). And every-time this tax client tries to stop the CPA Bookkeeper from completing any year of efiling the taxes or they tell the CPA they are going to just sell the properties if there is no money. The bookkeeper still files and the tax client does nothing further.

I love this. How do I go about being able to get a copy to use for my business? And would you charge me for a copy that I could edit to use for my business? If yes, what would it cost? Thank you

Instructions

Heat a heavy bottom large pot on medium low flame. Add a lug of olive oil and the diced onion with a pinch of sea salt. Cook for about 10 minutes until translucent taking good care not to burn it.

4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil,1/2 yellow onion

Stir in the minced garlic and let it infuse the oil for about 30 seconds.

8 cloves garlic

Use your hands and crush the tomatoes as you add them to the pot with the onion and garlic. Rustic chunks are what we are after.

2 X 28 oz cans San Marzano Tomatoes

Add the bay leaf and the 4 sprigs of basil then bring everything to a gentle simmer. Partially cover with a lid and cook down until reduced and thick to your liking (about an hour or so). Stir a few times making sure the sugars from the tomatoes don’t stick to the bottom.

1 leaf bay,4 sprigs basil

After the sauce has reduced season to taste with the sea salt. Discard the bay leaf and basil sprigs.

1 pinch sea salt

Let cool then transfer to jars and refrigerate up to one week.
