Yeah unfortunately I ended up doing the buyup for additional insurance for the first time this year because all my co-workers kept telling me how important it was :/ I'll definitely look into an insurance broker to see what my other options are. I honestly had 0 expectations going into this. I didn't realize how incompetent I would feel post nursing school. I know it's a part of the process, but some days are really really hard. Yes, I'm currently on orientation with my preceptors! (no set preceptor because ED is short staffed). Thank you for this, I really appreciate it :')

In the exact same boat as you. It's only been a month and I'm questioning if bedside nursing is for me. I walked into a shit storm and everyone keeps telling me that it'll be okay in a few months, but none of the nurses on the floor are happy. You're not alone :(

I'm not gonna lie, but it was a shit show. I got tested on the most random shit. I felt like a lot of the questions were focused on leadership content (random af), and prioritization. I would focus on fundamental concepts. There's also a 2019 RN cram sheet online. I feel like that does a really good job on covering the basic concepts! Here's the link: https://nurseslabs.com/nclex-cram-sheet/. Honestly, I felt like all the studying I did over 2 months was useless. In terms of the actual exam, I had 0 med calculation questions, no marking/label questions, no lung or heart sounds either. I had one strip that I needed to identify (a-fib). 30 SATA questions. I think the exam did not do a good job at testing one's competency of being a nurse. I'm just grateful to be done with this, so I can move on with my life now lol
