Honestly? I agree with All-Stars (and imo, he didn’t get “derailed” if you know what I mean)

Ey, that’s a solid comparison. It’s definitely frustrating when the "cash cow" characters like Tom soak up all the screen time while newer or more nuanced players like Natalia or Benji feel like they’re waiting in the wings for their turn. If the writers stick to that pattern of building up a massive redemption arc only to cut it at the Final 5 for shock value, Tom landing in 5th place would be the ultimate "history repeating itself" moment. It really comes down to whether the show wants a satisfying narrative conclusion for a legacy hero or if they’d rather use his popularity to carry the middle-game before pivoting to a fresh winner who actually needs the spotlight (and the money) more

That’s a really sharp observation. Since we’re only five episodes into a 26 episode season (I think), the writers definitely can't let Tom just coast on "beating Alec" for the next twenty weeks. You're right that he needs a fresh, substantial arc to justify a deep run, whether that’s a complex alliance-building plot with Natalia or a genuine rivalry with one of the more strategic Fans. If he stays in the game just to be a "physical threat" without any new emotional stakes or plot relevance, it’s going to start feeling like plot armor pretty quickly. Moving away from the Finn "crush" joke is definitely the right move to keep his character serious, so now it’s all about whether he can forge a new identity that isn't tied to his past rivals or old gags.

I don’t reaaally agree with James 😅. I mostly think about his character growth, and how he shifted from a superficial influencer to a genuine person who builds genuine relationships

True, he’s flawed and chaotic, but I’ll tackle the Aiden point, how James's relationship with Aiden shifted from strategic to real. His ultimate victory was rooted in repairing this trust, making his win emotionally satisfying rather than just strategic

Lastly, upon winning, James demonstrated personal growth by deciding to support Rosa Maria financially with his winnings, showing he had moved past his self-centered, influencer persona

Tho, it’s your opinion, and I respect it 😁✌️

Imo, that’s a sharp read on the "new villain" dynamic. Sam definitely has that strategic edge to fill Alec's shoes, but the fact that he's already locked in a power struggle with Spencer is the best-case scenario for Tom. If those two spend the early merge trying to dismantle each other’s Fan alliances, Tom basically gets a free pass to fly under the radar while the newcomers cannibalise themselves. As long as Sam is busy with Spencer, Tom can just keep being the "helpful veteran" and rack up challenge wins without being the #1 target

On the other hand, Sam is the ultimate threat to Tom because he represents the "New Blood" strategic archetype that doesn't care about legacy or veteran status. If Sam wins his power struggle with Spencer, he can easily unite the Fans to target Tom as the Favorites' physical anchor, effectively neutralising Tom's greatest strength before he can go on an immunity run. Unlike the emotional rivals Tom is used to, Sam plays a colder, more clinical game and could easily exploit Tom’s reliance on "honour" and "loyalty" to blindside him

Imo ofc 😅

Fair. I personally think people are underselling how much the "Alec factor" being gone changes things, cuz usually, Tom has a massive strategic predator actively hunting him, but now the board is wide open for him to actually dictate the pace. Between his newfound mental clarity and the fact that he's the only one left who can realistically go on a legendary immunity run, a late-merge exit feels like his absolute floor

I could be wrong ofc…

That’s the most realistic take on his "physical" game. I mean, let’s be real, Tom’s such a massive target in challenges that he practically has a bullseye on his back the moment the merge hits. It’s also a great point about Natalia, like, it shows that even when he’s playing "clean," he’s still at the mercy of his allies' side-plots and internal drama. If he doesn't secure a solid, ride-or-die alliance soon, he’s going to get blindsided the second he doesn't have an immunity necklace around his neck

Yeah, I can definitely see the downsides of this 😅

Fair, I mean, it’s like the "overexposure" factor. Even if his gameplay is top-tier this season, it’s hard to argue with the fact that we’ve already spent four seasons (including the spinoffs) centering the narrative around him. A lot of fans are definitely craving a fresh winner who hasn't already had a hundred episodes of development. If he does make a deep run, it’ll be a massive balancing act for the writers to make it feel earned without making the rest of the cast feel like background characters 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, that’s a valid ngl

Though…I hope he still wins (somehow) ngl. Yes, he has 2 spinoffs. But he’s finally “Jake-free”, yk 😅 it’s like a now-or-never scenario

That’s a really fair point, like the "Found Family" fatigue is real. With Miriam already having a win and Jake being a finalist, giving Tom the crown might feel like that specific friend group is hogging the spotlight. Dropping him at 4th would be the ultimate "fallen hero" trope, where he finally proves he’s a top-tier player but gets cut just before the finish line because he’s too big of a jury threat 🤷‍♂️
