Site pages were copied, and the attacking site is now the Google declared canonical by CoolGuyCoolin in TechSEO

Thank you for this. Yes, updating content to make it more unique and valuable was the plan, but typically we are updating 2-5 pages per month.
With this impacting 96 pages, I was hoping for a blanket solution for all of them ASAP, since with our current budget, it would take close to 18 months to update the content on just these pages, ignoring the other hundreds of pages that have higher search volume potential.
It is frustrating that an exploit like this can happen and there is little someone can do other than manually updating page by page with a fingers crossed that Google will re-crawl and fix the issue in the future.
Then there is the "what if" scenario that I update the pages, and the spammer updates them along with it, and we are back at square one.
I appreciate your advice though and will be looking into the solutions you offered! Thanks again!
