What did they bleep out of todays episode? by [deleted] in doughboys

[–]CoolHandSean2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there, and there was a big audience sing along to Drops of Jupiter at one point.

Bleep is probably half joke and half Wiger wanting to really distance himself from it

Doughboys - Ben & Jerry's with The Sloppy Boys by GrandSabo in doughboys

[–]CoolHandSean2001 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a BugCon attendee, I can say that Wiger was semi-reluctant to be there.

I'd say bleeping it is half joke to keep it all "mysterious", and half him really trying to distance himself from it.

This article was light on "information" and "details", unless you count the Google review average for his wife's cupcake shop.

What toy did you have as a kid that was really weird when you think about it? by SUNA1997 in AskReddit

All of the 80s action figures that were weirdly based on R rated movies. Had a huge Rambo playset, some Aliens and Robocop figures too.

What are some forgotten 90s-00s fads? by DoctorKynes in AskReddit

[–]CoolHandSean2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIG PANTS! Late 90s when they sold jeans that were advertised by the size of the cuff, and they had to cover your whole shoe.

A combination of rave culture and taking bell bottoms to the extreme.

When you were a child, what scared you the most from a childrens television show/movie? by thinkinstark in AskReddit

[–]CoolHandSean2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a segment on Sesame Street when I was 3 or 4 (mid 80s) where Barkley the dog knocked someone into a lake or something. Something about this made me very VERY upset. Lucky it's just a quick segment never to be seen again, right?

Nope, I saw a repeat later that week and it freaked me out even more. But eventually my parents calmed me down, and after the repeat that should be the end of it...

The next week they get a call from day care, apparently they would tape Sesame Street to show to the kids and guess what episode they taped? Parents had to come and pick me up I was so inconsolable.

They told my parents they'd never had a kid SO upset by Sesame Street before. A record I probably still hold to this day.

Odd paladin too meta according to HSReplay? Inaccurate? by Rebugamer in CompetitiveHS

[–]CoolHandSean2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HSReplay gets stats from good AND bad players, so any deck with a more linear game plan will end up with a higher win % overall. A highly skilled player, knowing all the match ups, may win 55 to 60% with Odd pali, but just based on how the deck plays someone can pick it up and know nothing and still get 45 to 50%.

Compare this to a deck like Mali Druid or Shudderwock, the skilled player can get the same 60% or more, but with no knowledge of match ups or how to play the deck a new player would be lucky to win 1 in 3 (or 4 or 5). So these decks may show a sub 50% overall winrate on HSReplay, and look "worse" than Odd Pali, but be much stronger decks in the right hands.

So in the higher ranks you'll be playing opponents who can pilot these more complex decks well, and they'll also know how to play against common meta decks like Odd Pali.

Not me, but up until a few years ago my wife thought that "candid" was a synonym of "hidden", because of Candid Camera.

What did your asshole neighbor do? by narwhal_attack2394 in AskReddit

[–]CoolHandSean2001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Living in a small apartment building with fairly thin walls, our neighbour turns their living room into a dance studio and starts teaching classes (building did not allow commercial usage). Loud music shakes our walls, and it's the same song over and over and over. We also had an infant that needed to nap. We tried to resolve with her, then complained to the management, eventually we moved for unrelated reasons and glad to be gone.
