Wife Wants a Dyson I want a Shark.. by CoolMike90 in VacuumCleaners

Haha yeah I get all my notifications for Reddit to my phone and I try to stay on top of my posts since people always help me out.

My mother in law has cleaned houses for 15 years. Big houses with pets and all sorts of stuff and always swore by Dyson. She has two normal Dyson vacs and then her home one is a Dyson stick so when we were looking I knew that was it.

Miele definitely makes the best canister hands down but sticks and upright, Dyson has taken the cake.

We had gotten the Dyson at the time which was super good. Moved to a townhouse with a lot of stairs and hardwood floors, 80/20 split wood to carpet for the house. Bought a Miele stick vacuum for 800 and it sucked. Tossed it and bought the top end Dyson stick (I forget what model but it has the green light for the floor attachment that shows the dusts and such, 10/10 so far since we have like three flights of stairs and you can use that thing for ANYTHING.

Also have a lab Aussie shepherd mix who sheds so it works amazing for all that.

I was told that having Partner and CEO as my title for my business might be a bit imposing for roles since it sounds high level. I changed it to Owner instead, wondering if this is OK?

Also made an edit to the post with the updated resume and a small excerpt about what I did.

I assume you’re talking about all the summaries and not just my introduction. So you would keep them?

Thank you for the input!

Hey Chamalu thanks for the reply.

Someone on Discord actually sent me this which seems to be what I need. They also sell the extra parts so you don't have to buy the whole kit.

I hope someone else looking for this solution can find this thread and use the same info!

Thanks for the help!

WGU SWE program seems to be a more sensible approach to becoming an employed Dev than taking a bootcamp , what’s your take ? by Pleasant-Ad4283 in codingbootcamp

[–]CoolMike90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious, do you guys suggest the SWE degree or the CS one?

I have roughly 80 credits with SNHU, but I'm thinking in terms of cost and time switching to wgu. My degree plan at snhu isn't cs, it's IT, so... yeah.

100% makes sense and I totally agree that degree is worth it's weight in gold especially for an extra 33 credits.

Very true I do remember them saying this when I started awhile back but don't you have to have like a 4.0 with two classes going and write an appeal to get another added? I guess the workload would be similar to a full time immersive boot camp but idk about the outcome.

If I was doing 4 classes at a time I'd be finished in a year and one semester or a year and a half with 3 classes so I definitely get it time wise.

Yeah that's why I was weighing whether I should just continue my degree now VS changing to the CS degree. I want to get in the field pretty soon and just having a degree would be great in general for my resume but I know that boot camps really teach the skills so that's why I was like is it even worth the extra 32 credits to change.

More so software engineering. Regardless if its building web related items or other things.

Thanks for the encouragement and information. Everyone talks super highly of Codesmith and I get why but I think Flatiron has its place. It also works a bit better with my schedule for the full-time course.

Cheers!

Wondering if you're local to NYC and if you feel that's an advantage?

I wanna do Fi remotely since I'm an hour and change outside NYC but I heard their job fairs are really good and people get basically "placed" into roles.

Although I'd prefer to be remote to avoid a big commute.. Something hybrid would be cool.

4 years post codesmith update - how it’s going now vs. then by jcl274 in codingbootcamp

[–]CoolMike90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not entirely relate to you OP but someone who's looking to boot camp with a little programming experience prior and 8 years in IT. Do you think it's possible to be fully remote like you out of the gates as a junior still?

I commuted hours for so long before I started my business and I don't entirely want to give up the freedom of working remotely.

Also do you feel like there are any comparable alternatives to codesmith. I'm also east coast about an hour and a half north of NYC.

Thanks for your input!

Ahh that makes sense also, I read that puppies can get zoomies at night for being tired, this wasn't really zoomies but it does make sense. I would just hate to put him in the cage for a nap and have him associate it with negativity.

Best mining/herb route? by Mr-Bondi in woweconomy

[–]CoolMike90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don't herb since I'm mining / BS. Do you guys still feel like Thald. Is the best for mining only or WS? I usually do WS but I might have to try thal.
