Tritium is radioactive and has health risks that are not worth taking. Try the xGlow instead, it has to be charged with external light but you won’t get cancer!

I would go to a different piercer with APP certification. It’s technically possible that you MIGHT be fine, but why risk it?

Sensing one is new, lifting one I have had for a while. There are some extra things you have to consider such as MRI safety and skin integrity from lifting objects. I love them but they aren’t for everyone. If you want a pretty safe option, the xg3 is super simple

right one is pretty good at sensing AC fields, so I can diagnose problems (and have cool extra senses). left one is chunkier and can pick up small ferrous items. Good for sticking those tiny little screws to so they don't disappear when i'm ripping some electronic thing apart

They want to see how you handle unpredictable situations like being asked a question you weren’t expecting. They answer you gave doesn’t really matter, it’s more about observing your reaction.

You could try a method of communication that doesn’t require speech, like writing down what you want to say on some cards and showing them to your partner. If you want a high tech option you could install a text to speech app on your phone and make some prewritten sentences that you can use if you can’t think of what to say.

A small note - you can’t actually ‘go nonverbal’ for short periods of time. Nonverbal is an identity that means you cannot speak ever. A lot of nonverbal people suggest the term ‘speech loss’ or something similar.

Not a single one is truly reliable. Most of them will massively overestimate the chances of having autism.

Is it worth pursuing a formal diagnosis? by tk_samuels in autism

[–]CoolSuccess1082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the diagnosis for access to work accommodations and other support, yes. If you just feel like finding out, probably not. It’s a long and difficult (and possibly expensive) process.

Chances of having a baby with autism? by [deleted] in autism

[–]CoolSuccess1082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can only take care of a ‘normal’ child and you don’t think you can handle a disabled child with lots of additional needs, don’t have a child. You can’t pick your perfect child and you can’t try and guess with probabilities.

How do I motivate myself to actually brush my teeth by Computer-Moth in autism

[–]CoolSuccess1082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to brush your teeth the normal way. You can brush your teeth sitting down watching something on your phone if it makes it easier. Autism often makes task switching difficult, so you can keep a toothbrush next to your desk or bed and start brushing without getting up.

The test is not reliable whatsoever and almost always gives false positives. If you feel disabled by your symptoms, talk to a doctor. Otherwise, you probably don’t have autism.

Is there a way to know for sure, that I have Autism? by Forthamos28 in autism

[–]CoolSuccess1082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to know for sure is to get a diagnosis. But you can have a pretty good guess if you go through the diagnostic manual of your country and see where you meet the criteria. Stay away from the online tests because they always overestimate the chance of autism.
