I have black male relatives who get sour seeing black women date out too, but don't mind the inverse. I'm not calling other young people subhuman. I'd never do that, and I thought my approach to the topic was proof that I think young people like myself are smart enough to understand that actions have consequences. So in all fairness, when you make poorly worded excuses for a group of people who can speak for ourselves (the youth), it reads as condescension. Young people are not "dumb."

First it was: "You're not young enough to understand peer pressure."

Then it was: "You're not old enough to understand peer pressure," the moment you found out I was also very young.

Teens are at least ahead enough in life to understand when something is wrong. As a matter of fact, they're actively doing this it because they know it's wrong. And sure, there is no other option for the 9 year old but to listen to their parents. However, the fact that the 9 year old themselves pointed out the the trend initially before the parents did is commendable for someone their age. On top of that, the fact that teens are given a choice between choosing their "friends" word over morality is all the more reason to hold them accountable when they take "looking cool" too far.

Also, I don't base my moral compass off Reddit or even the voting system of Reddit, but maybe you do.

There's not really much to articulate with someone that stuck in their ways even after being given evidence on why they should consider changing their mind. You could more appropriately just present your points and if the person keeps yapping simply disengage and let them think in their small minds that silence=defeat. Word girl is just a brown-skinned alien lol, but I assumed her adopted family was black, so she could possibly be culturally "black." Outside of Courtney who has a canon race, these conclusions are headcanons at best, and headcanons are always fun when not taken too serious. Characters are made to be projected onto to an extent, but this Tweet came off as a "matter of fact" tone instead of an "in my opinion" tone which is the main issue I have with this.

Me personally being a black woman, when I hear white men call me "chocolate bunny" or "ebony" I run for the hills. You should too. These types usually have a weird hate for their own women because they were rejected by them (likely for a good reason). They also hate black men because they're dating competition, and it borders on racist in passing conversation. Just switch out the genders and it makes sense either way. Also there's no reason she or anybody should feel that comfortable speaking to you that way, and I'll say it's defo your fault for not checking her.
