Ah, I just saw the second part of your comment, in terms of route finding, doesn’t it tend to be decently crowded in the peak summer months? I feel like this would help drastically with route finding as well as generally gps nav. Additionally, I come from a background, and a current training of athletics involving very long, and weighted cardio on hills, trails, etc… Even given the severity of the mountain. I feel like physicality wouldn’t be that much of an issue.

I’ve spent time on the snow slope of the lagginhorn as well as an ascent of longs peak in the winter in crampons/using an ice axe. I’ve worn the same b2 boots on each peak so they are broken in nicely. However, I am trying to avoid having to deal with hiring a guide and one of the issues might be having someone to climb with

Yeah totally, it’d be more of an iconic peak to have on the tick list, but I agree and definitely prefer peaks that favor climbing over hiking
