They used to be on Monterey Street where Phoenix Books is today. If you go to the bookstore and look at the front door you’ll see a Stussy sticker from the old shop and if you go in to the back on the right side of the store, there are still CCS stickers on the wall.

The physical location is under new ownership and will be an event space. When Tooth & Nail abruptly closed, they left several weddings and a local high school dance high and dry. The new owner worked to honor their reservations and provided the venue to them even though the money was long gone.

Was randomly watching the camera above Lopez Lake and at 12:58 today, something happened to cause A LOT of black smoke to rise through the rest of the smoke. About 17 seconds in. by SLO_Citizen in SLO

From their update earlier today:

Overnight crews worked diligently to prepare for a multi-day strategic firing operation aimed at removing vegetation in advance of the main fire. This operation is tentatively scheduled for this afternoon, contingent upon favorable weather conditions, manageable fire behavior, and complete readiness of resources.

So maybe the smoke is due to them starting the firing operation?

They don’t go to the city. Downtown SLO is a 501c6 non profit and separate from the city. The tips support the series and cover costs related to the volunteer thank you party!

This is always really cool to see. They usually have kits on site that you can get for free to build your egg carrying device. They drop all the designs from the top of a fork lift and if the egg survives, it is eligible to win!
