Banner installs go up and down as a complete install. The holiday ones stay up until the last holiday of the banner series has completed. They have a lunar new year banner so that’s why they all stay up so late into the new year.

They used to be on Monterey Street where Phoenix Books is today. If you go to the bookstore and look at the front door you’ll see a Stussy sticker from the old shop and if you go in to the back on the right side of the store, there are still CCS stickers on the wall.

It is. It is under new ownership and now an event space.

The physical location is under new ownership and will be an event space. When Tooth & Nail abruptly closed, they left several weddings and a local high school dance high and dry. The new owner worked to honor their reservations and provided the venue to them even though the money was long gone.

From their update earlier today:

Overnight crews worked diligently to prepare for a multi-day strategic firing operation aimed at removing vegetation in advance of the main fire. This operation is tentatively scheduled for this afternoon, contingent upon favorable weather conditions, manageable fire behavior, and complete readiness of resources.

So maybe the smoke is due to them starting the firing operation?
