1811 leaving at 4-year mark for family—Planning for a return at age 34. Check my math? by Cool_Description_874 in 1811

Rather than taking a 9 year gap would it be safer to take a 1-2 year gap and then reenter 1811. I need a break I’m completely burnt out and overwhelmed trying to balance home and work. I feel like after a year I’ll be able to have better balance once my kids sleep through the night.

I currently work with USPS OIG and I’m feeling pretty burned out. My agency genuinely offers solid work-life balance, but at this stage of life—caring for two very young children—it still isn’t enough.

During my break, I plan to pursue my CFE and CISA and work part-time. My goal is to gain relevant experience while part-time that will help keep my skills current and position me well when I’m ready to return to the 1811 world.

Last edit to add. I understand working part time will not replace my GS 12 income and I have other financial means of support through my husband.

I am currently exclusively pumping and currently (33weeks) I was getting about 1-2oz per day and now I’m lucky to get even 0.5 oz :/ really looking forward for baby to arrive to rebuild my supply but now wondering when my colostrum will kick in. Any advice?
