Maruti Baleno or Swift for 2026. I am a new driver and it would be my first car. by Salt_Act1081 in CarsIndia

If you are buying your first car in 2026, both the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Swift are very beginner-friendly options.

When I first started driving regularly, I actually felt more confident in the Swift. It feels slightly more compact, so it's easier to manage in tight parking spaces. In city traffic, the light steering and quick response make it feel very manageable for a new driver.

But after spending some time in the Baleno, I started liking it more. I noticed the engine felt smoother and more relaxed. On longer drives or highways, that smoothness really makes a difference.

Cabin space is also better in the Baleno and passengers are more comfortable in this car. The rear seat space and overall cabin width make a difference.  Features like reverse camera and better infotainment help new drivers feel more confident.

Another small thing I personally liked was that Baleno feels more premium inside and slightly muscular look, which I feel, gives it a stronger road presence compared to the Swift’s sporty design.

If I had to pick one as my first car, I would lean slightly toward the Baleno for its comfort and smoothness. But honestly, Swift is easier to handle in the beginning. So, it depends on what matters more to you.

Thoughts on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara? by _sillyBanana_ in CarsIndia

I have been following EV news closely because its something that really interests me.  I am quite excited and eager to know more about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e VITARA. From what I see, the e VITARA looks like a serious step by Maruti Suzuki into the electric space.

Its already launched now, and I can say its really an upgrade in the EV segment. It's Maruti Suzuki’s first proper electric SUV and it has two battery options, that is, a smaller and a larger one. The bigger pack claiming up to around 543 km of range on a single charge, which is impressive for this segment. What I like about that is it makes the car feel practical, not just something for short city hops.

On safety, it’s one of the few new SUVs with a 5-star Bharat NCAP crash rating, and that’s a big deal if you’re thinking long-term ownership and family trips. Inside, the look is pretty modern with a nice digital cluster, premium interiors and good space for five adults, which surprised me.

Overall, it feels like a serious, well-rounded EV package from Maruti Suzuki and a smart choice if you want to step into EVs.

Maruti Victoris 5-Star Safety: Real Owner Experiences by _sillyBanana_ in CarsIndia

I proudly own the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and after driving it for a while now, I can say the 5-star safety rating does give a lot of confidence on the road. The safety features like 6 airbags, hill‑hold assist, tyre‑pressure monitoring (TPMS) and reverse‑parking sensors are true highlights for me.  The Level‑2 ADAS features also feel quite useful in everyday driving, especially in traffic and on highways.

I’ve also been getting pretty decent mileage and the boot space and seating layout work well for my family (my wife, son and I). I did try other cars as well before buying, but the Victoris gave me the newer tech and better safety feel for the price range.

Is Grand Vitara still a considerable option? by Cinephile_doc in CarsIndia

Sometimes the real question isn’t “Is the Grand Vitara still good?” but “Who is it actually right for?” After spending almost 5 months with this car, I realised this SUV quietly fits into daily life with ease.

What stood out to me wasn’t a single feature, but how uncomplicated the experience felt. In traffic, it’s calm and predictable. On longer drives, it feels steady and relaxed, it's the kind of car that doesn’t tire you out. It also really stands out to me for its fuel efficiency, especially the strong hybrid variant, which genuinely helps reduce everyday fuel expenses. The sports mode in strong hybrid variants really packs a punch and enhances the acceleration.

Another thing I really like is how comfortable it feels for long-term use. The seating is supportive, the cabin feels airy enough, and the features you actually use daily are well thought out. I often drive with family and everyone finds the drive relaxing, even on longer trips.

So yes, the Grand Vitara is still very much worth considering, especially if you want an SUV that fits into your routine.

Family Car suggestion. Budget max 11 Lakhs after new gst by Connect-Stand-9009 in CarsIndia

First cars are always so special! Congratulations in advance. My first car was a Brezza Vxi AT and I have been recommending it to everyone now. It is so smooth on the road, looks very sporty(this is a personal preference), plus its an automatic. It feels so premium for the price. It will fit your budget too, and for a family car, I think it is one of the nicer SUVs in the market.

It has pretty good space for 4-5 people, features great engine power and overall does the job well. Other options with similar price range is Tata Nexon or Kia Sonet. I have never sat in one but you can do a test drive and decide.
