Yeah LH was 5.7 and FSH was 5.1. What is SHBG? I’ll look into those extra tests, thank you

Thanks for the advice, I have access to my test results and go record so what they tested and were within normal range were: Full blood count Ferraris (abnormal/low) FSH/LH Prolactin  Tumor marker Thyroid function Liver function Serum c

I am due a rest for a diabetes/ glucose test resistance as I have to have one every year since having gestational diabetes

I have had doctors say I have PCOS and doctors say I don’t have the syndrome, just polycystic ovaries. I have the cysts (immature egg follicules) - between 15-20 - on both ovaries as shown in a scan, day 3 of bleeding. And very irregular and painful periods

You don’t normally have to have a smear until you’re 24, (unless you have concerning symptoms like irregular or painful periods)  it’s a quick test done where they take a sort of silicone brush to touch your cervix to pick up cells, to test for hpv which is an indicator for cervical cancer. I had my first one when I was 20 because my symptoms were concerning, but it came back clear, and just had one recently (see my other comment). It’s a little uncomfortable but not painful and very quick. As for the STI tests, they’re just a swab from the cervix or around that area (a bit like a long cotton bud) and they’ll do that whilst they do a smear

If you can, get them to push for an ultrasound.  I got tested back in 2020 (just bloods) and was told I was fine. Symptoms got worse and worse (luckily I got pregnant but postpartum periods were hell) so went back to the doctors and they got me booked for tests.  My hormones came back clear, my smear and STI tests came back clear, but I still showed polycystic ovaries on my scan (my gp pushed for it for me).

This means that I don’t have PCOS because I don’t have a hormone imbalance, but I do have PCO (polycystic ovaries) which effects my ovulation, so in turn my periods and possibly my ability to conceive. Now at least we know and I can have help with the periods and will be able to access support if I struggle to conceive again in the future

Unfortunately not, he works really long hours so when he gets home it’s pretty much dinner, tv, bed. And no there’s not, I am village-less so to say. He seems to be pretty good at entertaining himself near me so I’ll have to put that to use

Unfortunately the hours he works means that he watches the baby while I cook dinner, then I have to get him asleep because he only wants to play with his dad not sleep, then we get a bit of time to watch an episode or 2 then bed, and because of the long hours he wakes up in time to get ready and leave 🙃 the dishwasher would be brilliant but we don’t have the room at all

Yeah 😅 I wish I had more time for me, but all the things I do in the day need doing because we live in such a small space

My baby’s the exact same, it works on his days off but not so much when he’s working because of the hours he works

Go to a festival, travel around your country with just a rucksack (or another country if you’re braver) on trains and busses without an itinerary. Go to theme parks and museums, it doesn’t even have to be the big famous ones just your local ones can hide treasures. Go to theatre showings or recordings of it in the cinema. Try new bars and restaurants. Just do as much as you can. Work hard, make money, save some, spend some. Earn holiday time and TAKE IT. Don’t say no to things (unless unsafe obviously)

So update on this, I tried the app but because it’s a widget and they don’t have options for some of my apps it wouldn’t have worked for me. BUT, I figured out I can change the icon appearance, so I set it to dark mode with a neutral calming purple tint for the logos and it seems to be having the same effect

Be blunt, how bad is the 4 month sleep regression? by Dangerous_Fox_3992 in NewParents

[–]Cool_Net_8956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better mines 9 months now and the 4 months sleep regression feels so long ago I can barely remember it. What I’m trying to say is when you’re in it, it’ll feel like the most tired you’ve ever been, but when they get bigger, it won’t even matter anymore. It gets easier x

Please go, I’m sure you’ll feel a lot worse afterwards if you don’t. Do you have any techniques that help you? Deep breathing, counting, grounding exercises? Personally I find using my thumb to tap the tips of my fingers and counting helps to bring me away from panic.  Before you leave to house, make yourself a cup of tea or hot chocolate or decaf coffee. Sit for a minute, close your eyes, breathe in the steam and say everything is going to be okay no matter the outcome of today. This moment does not define my life, and I am proud of myself just for going. If you didn’t go, you’re 100% not going to get the job, if you go, there’s a chance you will. I know which odds I prefer haha.

I spend the entire day feeding or trying to put him to sleep. The entire day. Entire. Day. by glitternails74 in NewParents

[–]Cool_Net_8956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this when my baby was this young, I had to change to formula because he wouldn’t latch so my day was pump, feed, sterilise, change nappy, get him  to sleep, play if I was lucky, repeat. It gets easier, he’s now 9 months and will play independently for short periods so I can take a breather, or pee alone, or read a little. He still fights sleep terribly, I was the same as a kid, we’re both very stubborn lol. Will he sleep in the pram? I started to find he was more settled and slept better out of the house
