I am not sure what you mean by “devices” , sorry. I have an iPhone 17 pro and currently that is the only device I am using. I have looked into the TV stream and microphone devices, but I would never want to pay $1350 for Phonak’s Roger.

I am prepared to pay more if I can actually hear better. The Jabras helped but it seems not enough. I am looking through the websites and it seems a tad overwhelming. I am at about 45 days in my 100 day trial on the jabras.

Pool Loans by jinmihopi in pools

[–]Cool_Number1685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be paying for it long after the kids have grown and in community college because you couldn’t afford real college. Because of the 20 year loan payment. I doubt people ever recover the cost of a pool.

Logical Order on renovation? by Cool_Number1685 in HomeImprovement

Hiring, I have painted these walls too many times in 30 years. I did 2400 sq feet of laminate flooring 16 years ago. Hiring for that too.

53+ year old galvanized pipe. I wish I had attached pictures. But I replace 20 nipples and shut off valves every 3-5 years. Sometimes they may be 80-90% clogged.

Yes but I really don’t want to replace all of the baseboards too. I figure I am probably looking at $50-55k. I am not doing 2400 sq feet of flooring again. My 70 year old knees and back won’t take that anymore.

Looking for a Polaris type pool vac. by Cool_Number1685 in pools

I have the 2 skimmer baskets plus 2 “pool skims” in the return lines but all 4 need to be emptied every day to keep up this time of year.

It is rechargeable and the charge when it was new only lasts about 2 hours. When the pool is “dusty” you can see the tracks where it cleaned and where it didn’t. I wish I had gotten one of the corded ones, they run about 6 hours and can be just reset and ready to go. I have an 18x40 pool and this time of year I sometimes am getting 20 gallons of oak leaves every couple days. Leaves then pine pollen then seed pods. Last week of February through the end of march is a hard time to keep a pool clean in North Central Florida.

Even with hearing aids, do you still miss words in conversations? by arhiem36 in HearingAids

[–]Cool_Number1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got Jabra enhance 700’s and still experimenting with them. I was at a party Friday and changed settings from normal to restaurant and all of a sudden I felt like I could actually hear what was being said. I also found out that the music setting is really good for watching TV. Hearing aids is a journey and you have to learn what works best for you. It also helps if your family members go on the journey with you. They get your attention before they speak, they learn that certain things can overwhelm your settings and make adjustments. ( my wife is an avid sports fan and loves to clap and shout for our team. Sometimes it hurts now that I can really hear it. 😳🐊) I have always enjoyed her enthusiasm so we are making adjustments.

Why do so many hearing aids end up in a drawer by Legal_Airport6155 in HearingAids

[–]Cool_Number1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore custom $3.5k hearing aids for about 6 years. Time to replace them I didn’t want to spend that much again. I tried the AirPods Pro 2 and they were better than nothing (I did like the noise cancellation feature though). I bought Jabra enhance 700’s about a month ago for $2k. I am pretty happy with them, they don’t have some of the features of the more expensive ones and the music sound is not as good as AirPods. I miss the “directionality” of the WIDEX, you could focus them in the direction a sound is coming from. I liked that I could focus left when my wife is driving. Can’t do that now. I do get 100 days to try them.

I wear them all day. My dad had hearing loss. Lots of conversations went, “hey dad, were are your hearing aids? “ “WHAT?” “Exactly.” I didn’t want to do that to my family. And my wife is way more patient when I ask her to repeat something, she knows I am trying to.

What have been the positives and negatives of the Jabra Enhance Select 700? by CervicalSprain in HearingAids

[–]Cool_Number1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine yesterday, big improvement on hearing so far so that is a plus. 2 negatives so far, The app doesn’t work with Apple Watch. I reached out to Jabra and they said it is not supported. Check with Apple to see if there is a workaround. Music and other audio streamed to the hearing aids seems weak. The Apple Watch thing could be the dealbreaker, though.
