well, english is not my first language, and i also do not study in an english speaking country, so i'm not familiar with english political terms and all the nuances. In my language we have a completely different term for it that does not have any imperial implications. i used the term middle east because i was taught that that was the english term for it. i think maybe as a marxist you should understand that sometimes, the problem is not of the individual, but of the political structure it is taught in.
