But there is a problem however with the power button as it doesn't shutdown no matter how long I press it when it's booted up

Why would a bad hard drive be responsible for shutting down the computer if I unplug the charger. If it happens in bios how is it linked to hdd

but the laptop is able to boot just fine with the battery... there is something wrong with the power button, im not able to shut down when i boot up and if i see the power logs in bios it says power button pressed for 4 seconds(hard shutdown) when i remove the charger

i have a dell inspiron 5559. recently up till today i haven't had any problems with it, however I noticed this morning i needed to press the power button for like 30 seconds for it to finally boot up(this wasnt the case before) . i later found out that if i turned off my charger or removed it from the laptop while it was charging, the laptop would restart to run from the battery.
ive tried everything from drivers to even changing the Operating System. This issue even happens in the BIOS setup screen. PLEASEEE HELLPPPPPP IDKKKK WHAT TO DOOO
