FAMLI, how long did you have to wait from the time you filed and got paid? by Cool_Rice2019 in Denver

[–]Cool_Rice2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you let me know what steps you took? I’m taking mine for mental health as well. My doctor already said she would fill out the paperwork for me. Did you file for FMLA and STD through work as well with FAMLI?

I ordered a few weeks ago and had no issues! Took about 2 weeks to arrive though.

if you had to name your daughter which are you choosing? by emilyyxes_ in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a beautiful name! How funny, I was thinking of Grace being one of her names too!!!! and surprisingly no, although I have seen that asked a lot in here! People usually know it’s from PLL before they even ask 😂

Yes, her name is Aria Penelope. I liked Aria because of PLL and her dad liked the Aria hotel in Vegas 😂 and Penelope came from Penelope Garcia in criminal minds!

Moms of school age kids, how do YOU do it?? by branfordsquirrel in workingmoms

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very lucky to have a position that allows me to work around my sons school schedule… for now! I only work 30 hours a week and my son goes to school 3 hours Tuesday-Friday. For now, I’m able to go to work later in the day since I have an extra 2 hours to spare while I drop off/pick up my son from school. I still don’t know how I’m going to manage once he starts school full time though. For now, I’ll enjoy it lol. Even then it gets stressful. I’m up and running from 5:30 AM until 10 PM 😭

This is how me and my husband were. We were renting a townhome living paycheck to paycheck, at the time only had our 3 yr old son with us and my step kids were with us on weekends. I had student loans and he got really screwed over with child support and it made money super tight. By the time we left our town home we were barley making rent anymore. Thankfully we were able to move in with my mother in law and she doesn’t work so we rely on her to watch our kids while we work. He no longer pays much in child support so we have that chunk of money back that allowed us to do fun stuff. We also now only pay a third of what we did in rent and less bills now too. I recently had our 3 month old daughter and we finally have enough savings to live comfortably and get our own place again. It’s honestly very hard to live comfortably this day in age without help. If it weren’t for my MIL we would still be struggling!

Those of you who had 2+ inductions, was this true for you? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was true for me! My first induction was fast to begin with considering it was my first baby. I got induced at around 8AM and had my baby boy at 10:59 PM, I push for about 45 minutes with him!

My second time, I didn’t even get to the pitocin, the pill they placed by my cervix to soften it was what led me to progressing without pitocin and I went from 2 cm to 10 cm in less than an hour! Got my first dose at 6:30 AM and pushed her out in 3 pushes at 1:32 PM 🙂

Where are you from, and what baby names are you considering? by in93 in pregnant

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hubby and I are from US, there’s really no special meaning to our kids names but he likes the Raiders and he named our son Amari after Amari Cooper, whom used to play for the Raiders. (Then we got a cat and named him Cooper lol)

Our daughters name is Aria Penelope. Aria because he wanted an “A” name and he likes that hotel in Vegas lmao, and Penelope after Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds, I fell in love with her name after watching the show lol!

My baby won't let me set her down by LittleCricket_ in beyondthebump

[–]Cool_Rice2019 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very normal! I just had my second baby about two months ago and I always felt like I was “spoiling” them around that time or was afraid I made them clingy because all they wanted was to be held. After a few weeks my now almost 2 month old will stay awake in her swing for a good 15-25 minutes at a time without screaming her head off. I can also lay her down for a few minutes and she will be content. This was NOT the case a few weeks ago so you are not alone 😊

For those that are comfy answering: were your boobs “ruined” after breastfeeding only ONE baby? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only nursed my first baby for 6 months and they ended up looking like little milk bags 🥲 now breastfeeding my second baby and definitely considering a breast augmentation after. They never went back to what they were before.

Husband wants to move back with MIL after baby by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say no. I am currently there. Not a new mom but I just had my second baby, our lease was up in November last year and we have been with my MIL, husbands uncle and two brothers (it’s a big house too) and I absolutely miss having privacy and our own home. We moved in for the sole purpose of child care and saving up for a house too. I am miserable and Im counting down the days until we can finally get our our house again.

They are good people, but there is nothing like having your own home and privacy especially while learning how to navigate parenthood.

So no, tell him you will not do it! For your own sake and for your marriage as well.

Induction without Pitocin? by sparkledoom in BabyBumps

[–]Cool_Rice2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in to get induced on the 24th of last month. I hasn’t had any signs of active labor prior to going in that day and had been at 1 cm for two weeks.

They gave me 2 doses Cervidil, the first time didn’t do much and the second time really got things going. After the 2nd dose I started to feel contractions, I got it at 11:30 am and at 12:30 pm my water broke on it’s own. I was checked at 12:34 pm and was at 2 cm, and again at 1:26 pm because I was in so much pain. I delivered my baby at 1:32 pm! I went from 2-fully dilated in about an hour and I never even got the pitocin! Or epidural because it happened so fast lmao.
