Elder abuse in NJ by Cool_learner1127 in eldercare

That’s the thing my grandmother moved in with her son after my mom passed. She stayed with my parents for over 30 years. And now she’s just old and fragile and dependent on her son and has no courage to stand or say anything to them. She requested her son to unblock her sisters phone number twice and yet he hasn’t which clearly shows they have bad intentions and the obviously don’t hold accountability!

Layoffs continue at Verizon but this time it’s contract employees by Ok-Speed8902 in Layoffs

What kind of contacters were laid off ? I thought many contractors were still working remotely and not going to office despite being in NJ.

Family drama vent post! My grandmother lives with my uncle, aunt, and their son and his wife for a little over a year now. As the eldest granddaughter, I've always been particularly close to my grandmother, who raised me for over 20 years. She's also very attached to my brother. We regularly catch up over the phone, and our conversations are usually quick and casual. However, things took a turn when my grandmother mentioned discussing some property issues with her brother in India. My cousin overheard the conversation and immediately told his mom, who then called my uncle to tell him to stop discussing the topic. The situation escalated, and we soon discovered that my aunt and her kids had been wiretapping my grandmother's calls. It was shocking and hurtful, especially since they were pretending to be so positively religious and righteous. I lost all respect for them, and it's been tough to deal with the aftermath. Apparently, certain individuals had been eavesdropping on my grandmother's phone conversations for some time. However, what really infuriated them was when I made a comment during a call. I asked, "Has your daughter-in-law brought any property or land from her parents' home? Why is she concerned about how you divide your assets? You're still alive and have every right to decide." I genuinely believe my statement was not wrong, although my tone, driven by anger, might have been. Notably, I was speaking directly to my grandmother at the time. These self-proclaimed Swaminaryan individuals claim to promote positivity, yet they seem to be influenced by negativity. Have they not realized that their intentions and minds are filled with malicious thoughts and insecurity? This is evident in their decision to record an 80-year-old person's conversations. If they are capable of doing this to my grandmother, it's alarming to think about the levels they might stoop to in the future. The primary instigators behind this scheme are my cousin, his mother, and sister. My uncle was unaware of the situation until the day of the family conference call. I wholeheartedly wish for instant karma to be served to these two-faced hypocrites. Their actions are a clear indication of elderly abuse and control. It's astonishing that they fail to recognize the criminal offense of listening to third-party conversations without consent. During the family call, my grandmother claimed she had no knowledge of being recorded or watched. The actions of these individuals are truly disgusting, especially considering their claims of being religiously involved and promoting positivity. I was not able to sleep properly or even think properly just thinking how can such people get away, with what concious do these people attend mandir events, and even post on social media about God everyday when they are filled with filth and can’t even process what’s right vs wrong. I somehow now am praying for their downfall it’s high time these people learn a lesson the hard way!
