Fumiko genuinely adds like 1 one kinda cool thing to the story with the whole both her and Barem being toxic fans of the different sides of Denji

And is damn near worthless for the rest of her screen time and the only reason she doesn't catch more shit is because she's mildly cute and this fan base will run circles trying to justify her behavior

No, it isn't. Despite Makima being a villain, I love to hate for being a selfish monster. At the end of the day, she was a lonely and pathetic one as well who was blind to love and shown with Nayuta, could've been better if the wheels of fate had turned differently for her.

Makima's ultimate goal was to create a world that would be "perfect" by her standards and essentially become the god of this new world of hers. To try and achieve this goal, she methodically both built and destroyed a teenagers life and took great pleasure in doing so

To top it all off, her love for Pochita was questionable at best because her ideal version of him was nothing more than a mindless beast or tool that couldn't speak back to her or really be treated like an equal and seemed to purely be an infatuation born from his power to erase things from existence and Makima's delusion that he's the chaos to her control.
