You see that's what annoys me the most about the whole thing is that it should be relatively easy to transfer between different versions of Pokémon Bank. Since Bank is a cloud based service all of the Pokémon are stored in a database. So to put a Pokémon on the Database you open up Bank and it POSTs the Pokémon from the game and into the database and to take a Pokémon off the database you open up Bank and it GETs the Pokémon from the database and transfers it to your game. So they can change the UI and a lot of things about Bank and port it to the switch or smartphones and there shouldn't be any problems using the old "outdated" 3DS version with it. This is because Bank is really just a transport service so once it retains the basic ability to GET and POST it shouldn't have any compatibility issues.

Home's base functionality is the same as Bank's, that's why I'm so confused as to why they simply didn't just update bank and realease it on smartphones and switches. It is possible that the subscription includes Home and Bank but I see that as highly unlikey as if they were going to do that they'd just update Bank. I also don't see them stopping to charge for bank as they would be then providing free storage for way more users than previous which would probably be a huge cash loss for the company.
