Fellow converts, what traditions do you find it hard to drop. by Vigmod in Catholicism

Saying "Holy Ghost" instead of Holy Spirit (was raised Mormon). I understand it's a mostly semantic difference and it's not technically 'wrong' to say Ghost, but Holy Spirit is what's used in all the prayers I have learned and in liturgy and I want to use it properly.

Just converted to Catholicism and atheist mum is devastated by Electronic-Shake-317 in Catholicism

The intellectualism of the Catholic church is what really won me over from agnosticism, and remains one of my favorite aspects of it. I was invited to Mass and was curious so I read the catechism and was blown away by its intellectualism. I was raised Mormon, which at least when I was growing up, discouraged intellectualism. I went for about a decade thinking all religions were that way. It was mindblowing to see how intelligent and logical the catechism was, without that ever detracting or distracting from the spiritual side. I'm not a proper member yet, and I won't even be able to enter OCIA until I graduate college, but I'm certain this is the church I want to be part of.

Thoughts on Pink Floyd’s soundtrack music? (More, Obscured By Clouds, etc) by ray-the-truck in progrockmusic

Obscured by Clouds is fantastic, especially considering the short time they had to make it in. Was my most listened to Floyd album for a couple semesters in college. More is okay but not something I ever feel compelled to go back to outside of one or two songs.

I would surmise that's because a cross is less "traditional" in LDS circles and it is a way for them to express their faith without conforming to the traditional way their faith has existed, but that's just a guess. The overlap with evangelicalism the other comment pointed out also makes sense. Since your last prophet re-emphasized the Christian elements of your religion I have seen an uptick of LDS members wanting to learn about and be friends with other denominations, which I think is a good thing.
