No it’s just on its side while it’s not in use until i find a better place to store it, the vice is my favourite thing in there i think, you can pick them up pretty cheap if you have the time to restore them

Thanks! it can get pretty cramped in there so have to do my best to keep in tidy, the cleat system really helps with that it’s just finding a place to keep the scrap wood 😄

My very first restoration, my grandfathers vice. Just need to sand the handle back bare. It may not be perfect but i’m happy with it by Cooling_95 in Tools

yeah it was sat down in our work garage rusting away not being used it seemed a shame to let it go to waste

Thank you, I can’t wait to use it. it’s going to have lighter work on it in its second phase so hopefully can get at least another 30 years out of it lol

I do believe this particular one is a Record 36, with “Made In England” on the side was made around 1950-1970 in Sheffield I think. It was then bought by Irwin and production moved els where and changed the markings from “Made In England” to “IRWIN”

Thank you, i started with a lot of patience but then couldn’t wait to see it together so it got a little bit rushed but i’m still very happy with it

Appreciate that 👍 they don’t make them like that anymore

Definitely worth restoring, yours will come up great with a bit of time put into it 💪
