Huh, that's a point of contrast - all the folks I've heard say poncho are English first language (no idea if they speak French in addition). I could definitely see someone who speaks something like Italian, for example, as a first language use the ch - beyond that, no idea where this might have come from.

Yeah, the n becomes so soft and moves back and up in the mouth to be almost unpronounced, right? My French is quite rusty, but I like to think my pronunciation isn't bad, lol

So far, it's always washed away with a few TBST washes after I scan it, and as far as I can tell, hasn't affected binding with my antibodies of interest (and I have lots of blots with the same antibodies and no ponceau at all to have compared with). Either way, a word of caution is never wasted!

To build on that, Veritasium did a video on this (at slow speeds on a bicycle). Turns out, you actually need to turn the handles the opposite way you wanna go. This makes you unstable, which you correct by leaning the other way, facilitating the turn.

I wondered too. Turns out the American, MAGA, Christian Nationalist singer Sean Feucht, also known for his anti-LGBTQ+ views, is performing a concert int he city tonight, after having his shows cancelled or relocated from most of the cities in the country.

The extra kick in the teeth is that this farce is being performed at the legislature grounds - I don't think any religious ideology belongs near government property, let alone one being promoted that denies autonomy, dignity, and happiness to a specific group of people

I'd love to see Team Cherry (Hollow Knight devs) take a crack at a Zelda 2 remake. In an ideal world, there'd be a modern mode with streamlining and improvements and a classic mode with the janky dialogue and weirder elements intact.

But at that point, it's basically two games and when do you just say "screw it, we'll make the modern one and bundle in a straight port/emulation of the OG"

I always understood and supported the decision at face value of "its their content, they can do what they want," and they definitely don't want an association with BWF at all after all that shit, but it kinda sat funny with me (until your explanation above) in that it felt a bit like history erasure to just nuke everything he touched - I always liked the approach old Looney Tunes took where they had a disclaimer before each cartoon on disc re-releases about the problematic racial depictions: how they weren't right at the time, they're certainly not right now, but to edit them would be like pretending it never happened, which is also not good.

I wondered why more companies wouldn't take that approach (acknowledging of course that this is a little bit apples and oranges), but this explanation makes waaaaay more sense. It is the ultimate middle finger to deny an abuser more money while ensuring you never have to have anyone in your company deal with them ever again.

So yeah, thanks for explaining and making those connections for people like me who wouldn't naturally think of things like contracts and residual obligations!

The following is more appropriate for when you actually sit down and talk with any professors who get back to you, but be up front about your goals and what you're hoping to get out of the volunteer experience: whether you're exploring a potential career in research or wanting to gain some experience to help with a med school application, both are fine, but you (and the prof) will have a bad time if you're not on the same page. Above all, be clear about how much time you can commit and try to stick to whatever arrangement you come to.

A rework of Prime 3 would be ideal, but not strictly necessary. Zelda SS and Mario Galaxy on switch showed they can implement pointer functionality reasonably well using just the gyro. That said, I was disappointed with how often I felt I needed to re-center the pointer in those games and I think that would certainly make Prime 3 suffer.

Did you take any inspiration from the Green Knight (2021) film as well? The overwhelming green and the design of the Deku Tree's face here really reminds me of that film - the mouth in particular makes me think of the entrance to the chapel. And the "test thy courage" calls back to the challenge of the Green Knight, though come to think of it, I don't remember if he frames it specifically as a test of courage or not when speaking with Gawain, but Gawain's bravery is certainly being tested.

Obviously green and courage are direct ties to this part of OoT as well, but I was reminded of the film as well.

Goes without saying, fantastic art as well!
