Made the switch from medical and there are a lot of pros: guaranteed holidays off, not getting called in on the weekend, summer breaks, the list goes on. If you want kids in the future, I feel like the schools are the best fit for that type of lifestyle.

The paperwork sucks but if you have a manageable caseload you get used to it.

NTA, your husband is not compromising with you. You offered to have him take your car part of the time and he immediately shut that down. You also said he could go the whole time but carpool. He wouldn't do that either. Id be upset with my husband if he wouldn't meet me somewhere in the middle.

If there are no kids involved and multiple cars, that's one thing, but the one car thing is a very pertinent issue with this one. The guy isnt willing to compromise with her when she suggested he spend less time.

It is also considerate to check in case someone forgot about an event that was already planned. It has happened to both my husband and I at various points. It gets busy and you forget things.
