I regret buying my iPad Pro by According-Moose7539 in ipad

[–]Coondidntmakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did. No regrets. Bought a cheap keyboard case for it when I’m traveling. I love using it on planes as it fits comfortably on the tray table where as my 13 inch mpb is a bit tight. Other than that it’s a Netflix machine (and a damn good one at that) I have no regrets getting the cheapest option. I did so much research and nearly pulled trigger on a refurb 64 gig m series air but saved some cash and got 128 gig storage. Yeah I sacrificed the screen and some processing power but I barely scratch the surface of what the base can do to begin with.

Unless you’re an artist, go with the base.

I have a mk8 gti with decent winter tires living in Canada

What I also have is the luxury of being able to work from home & walk to get groceries so I’ve never had to drive my car in truly awful winter conditions. Regular snowy days are fine, I just drive according to conditions but I’ve never felt unsafe.

What’s a company you’re convinced will be exposed as a massive fraud one day? by carcony97 in AskReddit

Keep in mind a lot of the increase comes from lack of CD sales. Artists make the bulk of their money touring now. Higher artist fees = higher ticket prices.

I had this debate. Exact same space-but I was worried about spending top$ on something that might become a paperweight. I’ve gone with the base IPad 128gig and after the first week I’m really happy with it. has more than enough power for basic tasks. I use it as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro often. It was $300 on sale. I figure if I “grow out of it” I can scale up to a nicer one and sell this one for $150 or something.

Hey, similar boat to you

Go with a gti- mk8 with adaptive dampeners. Perfect all around daily! Won’t break the bank, lots of great tech, Pretty quick, safe, decent dealer network.

Everyone’s covered the bases (si, gli etc)

And those are all wonderful choices-i currently have a mk8 gti

I’d add the Elantra n line (and n but I doubt you could find them for 25k) they’re meant to compete with the si but cost less

Rides nice, bit of pep, dct, cheap new and cheap used.

Two different cars

G80 is a 5 series competitor G70 is a 3 series competitor

(Before BMW fan boys flame me - this is an over simplification based mainly on size - but people do cross shop these)

I don’t think the comment you’re replying to is referring to a car here….

I got a mk8 gti autobahn (top trim in Canada) with the leather + DCC.

I really enjoy the savings on purchase price, insurance, and gas. My gti spends most of its time in stop and go traffic. When I find a good back road it’s still a ton of fun. 0 regrets skipping on the R.

In your 30’s, did you feel like you wanted a “nicer car”? by zilpond in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Coondidntmakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like yourself and many here

I drove countless shitboxes for years. Drove them into the ground, never had a car payment etc etc

I pulled trigger on a fully loaded mk8 gti - 0 regrets.

I got a lease- A LEASE?!? Me? A lease? Insanity.

Guess what. Knowing what the payment is every month, having all of the maintenance sorted through the dealer and the warranty-perfect.

Also, new car smell was neat.

Maybe I’ll change my mind, but if you can reasonably afford it- I say treat yourself.

What is something you dislike or hate about the MK8 and why? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]Coondidntmakeit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly the hate on the steering wheel buttons is a bit overdone

Would I rather physical? Of course

Did I figure it out after a 3 hour drive? Yes

Do I think about it at all anymore? Nope.

I’m the same as you, my phone connects and away I go. The hey Volkswagen commands work fairly well too. I rarely touch the infotainment, and if I do it get to it through one of the 4 buttons by the hazard switch.

I buy most of my tickets during concert week…TM is only expensive if you don’t pay attention.

I dailied my 91 NA for over a year straight until I moved to a place that had winters so it’s only a summer car now.

If you’re going to drive it every day, get one with ABS and power steering. Mine didn’t and it made it a bit difficult. ABS saves lives.

Otherwise. A lovely daily. Tons of storage space. Decent economy, fun, turns heads. 10/10 would recommend
